NBC/WSJ Poll: Trump Approval at All-Time High

Sunday, 22 July 2018 06:43 PM

President Donald Trump’s job approval rating rose to an-all time high of 45 percent with help from Republican support, according to a poll released Sunday by The Wall Street Journal and NBC News.

Trump’s approval rating among Republicans stands at 88 percent, with 50 percent of voters saying he has handled the economy better than other major issues. Forty-four percent approve of the way he has handled North Korea, but the president has higher disapproval numbers on border security and immigration, trade, U.S. and Russia relations and immigrant families at the border.

Fifty-eight percent disapprove of the way his administration has treated children and parents who entered the country illegally and who have been separated at the border, while 51 percent object to the relationship between the U.S. and Moscow. The poll started one day ahead of Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 16 where Trump appeared to absolve Putin and Russia from meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

“During what is a terrible week in terms of media coverage and focus on the president, these numbers don’t budge,” Republican pollster McInturff told the Journal, describing the president’s approval ratings as “stable.”

Trump’s performance in Helsinki alongside Putin drew large support from Republicans, according to an Axios/SurveyMonkey poll released late last week.

Other results, according to WSJ/NBC:
  • Only George W. Bush had a higher approval rating in the Republican Party at the same point in his presidency
  • 53 percent say that recently imposed tariffs would hurt the average American
  • 45 percent disapprove of the way Trump is handling trade between the U.S. and foreign countries
  • 56 percent say immigration helps the U.S. more than it hurts
  • 46 percent say special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the election should continue

I just saw a Gravis poll that had the D and R governor candidates deadlocked in Oregon. D's about to get BTFO (mainly by their own doing).

Generic polling still favors D over R

I wouldn't get so cocky about this red wave. I know you guys mock the big registration drive by Democrats, because their people don't all go out an vote. But you need to do your part, with each and every one of you getting one person to vote for any candidate that will be strong on illegal immigration and other populist issues on the right to counteract it. Some of the Rs running are getting big billionaire money from Koch brothers who are open borders. If you see a Republican who is endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce, that's a strong sign they're weak on the issue.

If biased polls say 45, it probably closer to 55-60.

Just like the real unemployment was sky-high under Obama, the fake news didn't report it, and it magically became correct around January 2017?

Rasmussen, which has been pretty consistent, and consistently higher than the groups the left has generally cited, has him at 46%, rebounding after a post-summit dip to 44%. He's been consistently running between 46% and 49% since early May.

His polls would skyrocket if all of these deep state thugs were indicted by a grand jury or possibly even military tribunal for some of them.
