Anders is out. TRich will be the starting RB and Bennett the starting FB with Moreau the goaline and short yardage back....
Sounds like a move in the right direction but could someone please tell me why the biggest, strongest and fastest back,(TRich) can't handle the goaline and short yardage duties? |

Lovely, we're taking a pro-bowl calibure FB and trying to make him a HB. And we're fronting him with a slow FB that isn't nearly the blocker that Rich is.
How dumb are these people! |

since richardson is named the starting rb, that means he will get about 3 carries.

This is really no change other than the fact that TR will get fewer carries since he's been named 'starter'.
Bennett will still 'carry' the ball on short yardage for fractions of yards as allways. |

The article in the Star also said that Anders is pretty much out of the picture. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think it matters because our O-Line can't run block, so it doesn't matter which of our current backs is playing.

I guess Gun-Ho plans on explaining the situation more later in the week but these latest moves have been puzzling.
After watching Denver's OL cut and push their way in New Orleans -- the massive size of the holes -- was amazing. Any of our "HBs" could have done well behind that effort. I really think our OL has underacheived this season, and our play calling has not made up for it. Remember the guys we cut in PS ? We looked loaded up front now we are in a world of hurt. If you watched the game Monday, New England has a terrible OL & running game and they schemed us to perfection. It's so obvious we were out "coached" on both sides that our staff should be embarrassed. Unfortunately for Anders I think he will soon be history. It's sad because he was a great team player before his injury and I hate to think about him going out like this...our running game is a mess. Let's hope the three stooges are released at the end of the year and RBBC goes with them. |

Can anyone explain to me why Donnell Bennett has a starting role with the Chiefs?
He may have had a good year or 2, but quite frankly he is nothing but wasted cap space right now. mark ******** ------------------ KilGore is a noun, not a verb.. |

You are most correct Ozarks-Chiefs-Fan, any Chiefs "starting" RB can count on 3-4 carries, how phuc_ing stupid is that? Denver better count their lucky stars, hell Gun-Ho could be their coach, barring injuries TDavis would be their "starter" getting 3-4 carries, OGary & MAnderson would get 6-8 carries ea. a game & KaRon Whoever would be getting the tough third down & goal line carries!

TRich should have been getting 25+ carries since the season started, Bennett or no Bennett.

Remember back in the days when you would see Grunhard and Szott/Shields pulling around the end to block for the RB? All those years when we just ran, ran, ran, it seemed like the O-Linemen were always in front of the RBs. I have seen that only a few times this year... by the Chiefs anyway.

cbg: Age has definately slowed our 'big three'. Also, the loss of Alex Gibbs as our OL coach back in those days has hurt as well. You can see what he has done with Denver's OL: 3 different RB's in 3 years - over 1000 yds each.

Titus,
BINGO on the alex Gibbs issue. I have maintained al along that Gibbs, more than any player or coach the Chiefs have lost over the years was the teams biggest blow. He is simply the best OL Coach in the business. Why didn't Marty do whatever it took to keep him on the staff? I know he was promoted to Assistent Head Coach when the Donx signed him, but couldn't the Chiefs have done the same thing to keep him? Did he have a problem with Marty or Carl? Or, does he just like Shannahan better? What was the official word? Also, Art Shell was also a great OL coach - certainly better then anyone the Chiefs have had since Gibbs, or berofr him for that matter. Why wasn't he retained? |

Ahhhhh, the good old days. When we complained about running for 150 yards a game. At least we won.

Mark, I have no idea why Bennett is still here. I'm starting to believe that he has pictures of Carl and some farm animals in compromising positions.
