The iPhone and iPad (and iPod touch) CAN multitask. It just has to be an Apple app doing the multitasking. It just doesn't have 3rd party multitasking.

What exactly do they mean by wide screen? It is too a widescreen as it plays horizontally too.

Ugh, I can't continue.

Color e-ink is just around the corner, I think. Which basically makes both of your points.

LED can't.

Very "meh" for me. The only thing it's got going for it is price, really.

Who ever thought that statement would be made about Apple?

Thinking about it, I think it takes 3 revisions and it'll be a killer product. Of course, competition will be there by then.

Well, they were actually smart. I'm sure they leaked all those high prices, so we'd feel amazed and positive about a $500 entry point. That being said, that will be a good value on a more developed machine, 2g or 3g, machine.

Especially since they usually keep same price point and up specs/features.

So any recommendations for my ebook reader buying need?

Wait for iPad to play with at Apple Store? Buy a Kindle sight unseen or played with? Buy a nook?

Use the money to upgrade my phone and wait out the new bloodbath?

You can't really go wrong with the Kindle from what I've seen and heard. The Nook looks nice as well. I think if you're wanting an ebook reader, I'd buy an ebook reader. Don't go with the iPad.

Do you think the price difference between iPad and Kindle's BOOKS is a result of DRM or lack there of?
