Let's get it on!

Jan. 14, 2013

Kansas notes for Baylor
ESPN BIG MONDAY
No. 6/6 Kansas (14-1, 2-0) continues its quest for nine-straight Big 12 regular-season championships when it plays host to Baylor (11-4, 3-0) on ESPN's Big Monday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. Kansas was the preseason selection to win the 2013 Big 12 title, while Baylor was second. The Jayhawks are looking to go 3-0 in league play for the 17th time in the last 18 seasons dating back to the Big Eight Conference days. The Baylor contest will be the 799th all-time Kansas men's basketball regular-season game played in historic Allen Fieldhouse.

Kansas, ranked No. 6 in both the Jan. 7 polls, is 14-1 (2-0 Big 12) on the season after winning its 13th-straight game with a 60-46 victory at Texas Tech on Jan. 12. The 13 consecutive wins tie for the seventh-longest winning streak in the 10 seasons under head coach Bill Self. Self holds a 283-54 record for an 84.0 winning percentage. Kansas averages 77.8 points per game and is giving up 60.3 for a Big 12-leading +17.5 scoring margin. So essentially everyone is hoping that he is a pussy and overreacting...?

His reaction seemed like it was more than a rolled ankle. I hope he is just a pussy. :-)

KU played well for the first time since December tonight. Great defensive effort even if they missed most of the shots they usually make. Could have been an absolute blowout if they did.

Too bad about Ben, could be a sprain. That could keep him out a while. I don't think he's the player they can least afford to lose to injury, though. That would be Withey and the defensive presence he brings to this team.

@KansasSports

RT @cjmoore4: Self says on radio interview McLemore has a sprained ankle. Should be OK. McLemore says he heard a pop.

I've heard mine pop. Rolled and sprained many times. Every time it has happened to me my initial reaction was intense pain and then "****" why did this have to happen. It will probably linger for awhile

FWIW, I've had a "knuckle cracking"-like pop when I've turned an ankle before.

Texas' defense is quite good (12th best defensive efficiency in the country). Their offense is abysmal (253rd best offensive efficiency in the country, which is quite ridiculous and even worse than Texas Tech to give some perspective).

They should be able to get by without McLemore on Saturday provided they actually give an effort.
