If Bowe goes down . . .

What the hell are they going to do with the WR position?

I don't care how good of a play designer or play caller Reid can be, or if Alex Smith plays like he did in the playoff game for the entire season, we'd be lucky to average 20 points a game if our WR core becomes:

Avery, Jenkins, Hemmingway, Wilson/Williams/Dressler

Is Dorsey expecting our defense to hold opposing offenses to less than 10 points a game or something?

The only WR's out there right now who are worth even a tiny glance are:

Miles Austin
Santonio Holmes

That's literally it on the FA market.

Do we trade Flowers for someone? Who would make that trade? Hali?

It seems like the FO is betting on Jenkins, Avery, and Hemmingway to step up their games in year 2, but I won't be holding my breath on it.

Another possibility is that they expect Kelce back at full strength and expect him to be a 40-60 catch guy for us as an inline TE and occasional slot guy.

All I know is that Reid really has his work cut out for him. This offensive roster, in terms of receiving weapons, is nearly as bad as his early 2000 Eagles days when he had Todd Pinkston, Freddy Mitchell, and James Thrash as his top receivers. I just pray that Bowe can stay healthy and put up at least 80% of the production that Owens had for the Eagles in 2004.

Can't really compare him to to. No team problems. Sounds more like what we heard about Jackson somewhat.

As far as I know he's not driving around drunk all the time trying to get someone killed.

it's strange ... just about the first thing Dorsey did was give Bowe a billion dollar contract.

Ever since he's acted like the WR position is a disposable position that can be filled off the trash pile.

I'd pay the guy who draws double teams a billion dollars too if it meant we'd see JC wide open in the flat with space move lol.

He's a 6'6" monster who dominates on the field. I'd absolutely take him to replace Bowe next year if I'm confident in my ability to keep him clean.

Defenses pretty much stopped doubling Bowe about game 3 of the season. No point to it.

I don't think that's necessarily true. What I think you're seeing this year is a Dorsey more true to his roots, which is to go after opportunities when they present themselves. Not to jump into opportunities based on need. If a draft pick falls to him or a free agent hits his value sweet spot, he'll go after him. I don't think it means he doesn't place any priority on the receiver position. Keep in mind that the only major free agent he went after was Sanders, a receiver.

Avery is going to go off this season - I'm telling you all - get behind him now! He's going to produce, believe in him! He's our receiver! I will follow him.

Bash away - I don't care - he's going to ball like Mike this season.

He passed on viable receiving options throughout the entire draft. About the only round you could say that a TE/WR would have been a reach was the 1st round.

I don't think so.

They went after Sanders and he pulled a total bitch move and were in the mix for D-Jax.

Nothing really just seemed to work out when it came to FA or how the draft progressed. I've heard Brandin Cooks was very high on the Chiefs board (Eagles board too; prob. why they went all weird in the first round). Black mamba is gonna end up in the slot, so I wouldn't say they completely ignored the position.

I'm not sure you could call Marquise Lee a reach at 23. A shit-ton of Thursday afternoon mocks had us taking him there.

And you certainly can't say we didn't take him because of injury concerns - look at our ****ing draft class.
