Even after his last two seasons, would you still trade Alex Smith for Phillip Rivers?

A buddy of mine and I at work were discussing this today. He says no way but I'd do it in a heartbeat. I cant stand the douche and he has been pretty bad lately but I still think Rivers has more potential to get us a playoff win than Alexis. And yes, Im that beat down as a Chiefs fan...all I want is one playoff win.

Funny how we bash Rivers when he's been hands down the best QB of this division not counting Manning for the past 5 seasons.

Of course I'd take him. AJ Smith has completely gutted that Chargers team from what it was 5-6 yrs ago. That team has been yanked right out from underneath him. Cant fault him for that.

Somebody is gong to have to make up for losing Welker, Hernandez, and with Gronk's uncertainty.

No. But I'd trade him for Cutler in a heartbeat

Amendola, if healthy, should be good in Welker's absence. Jake Ballard will need to step it up, big time, if they're to offset the loss of Hernandez.

If Gronk's healthy, he'll be a beast. If not, Brady will just throw to his receivers and rely on their running game.

What will be interesting to see is whether or not Tebow takes serious reps at the tight end spot for the Pats.

They've had another te who looks like he can play the F pretty well to replace Aaron. Can't remember his name.

That offense really needs to get some quality production/respect out of their X this year.

Rivers hasn't looked right for two years now. His arm strength isn't the same. He just looks sloppy out there, and doesn't have a lot of zip on his passes... which explains why he's thrown his two highest INT totals the last two years.

I'd rather have Rivers, but not by a mile or anything. Rivers seems to have had his stats inflated by the great offense the Chargers once had, and isn't quite as good as we thought he was. Smith has been better hands down the last two years, but Rivers has a higher ceiling on a great team.

On the other side of the coin, we'd have to watch him whine and complain every week.

I honestly have not read a single post in this thread. Is that what everyone thinks? I still think he's looked off.
