NFL ROY 2012
Ok, so there's a ton of chatter about this and for good reason.
Who wins? Luck, Wilson and RGIII have all had incredibly huge seasons - all of their teams are in the playoffs. Colts and Seahawks win 11 games and enter as wildcards, while the Redskins have 10 wins and win the division. Wilson and RGIII each had great ground game support, Wilson also had a great defense. Luck, really didn't have either of those this year. How much should Alfred Morris play into the MVP race? Most years, a rookie RB gaining over 1600 yards and 13 TDs would win this thing. How much does Morris having his success hurt RGIII - if at all? Wilson with the great ground game and defense - does that hurt him? Many are dismissing Luck, but he produced and they won 11 games. I don't think I have a preference to be honest with you... |

It's really not worth it trying to talk football on this forum today, MHM.

Tough, tough, call...........
Can there be a split vote? I think i might honestly be inclined to give it to all 3. or at the very least, split between RGIII and Wilson.

Its RG3 or Wilson, nothing against Luck but his performance was just not at the same level as theirs. I would give it to Griffin but its close.

Agree 100%. I'd probably give it to Wilson just because he overachieved compared to expectations much more, but either one would be very deserving of it.

He produced a terrible 76 QB rating and 18 INT. They won in spite of him. Granted, they could've had Brady Quinn or Skelton and gone 6-10 but even a league-average QB probably gets the Colts to the playoffs this year. Their team is far better than most people think.

Indy's defense isn't that great - really no ground game - they blew up the team to a degree after 2011. They won 11 games - defeating teams like the Vikings, Packers and Houston. Not bad and Luck still had 4300 yds with 23 TDs to go with those 18 INTs. I don't think he sucks.

Luck didn't have as many weapons, which I think is showcased by the fact that he threw 627 passes - compared to Wilson and RGIII who each threw only 393 passes. Luck threw 234 more passes which will bump up the INTS and the incompletions. Luck - 4,374 yds / 23 td / 18 int / 62 rush for 255 yds & 5 TD RGIII - 3,200 yds / 20 td / 5 int / 120 rush for 815 yds & 7 TD Wilson - 3,118 yds / 26 td / 10 int / 94 rush for 459 yds & 4 TD Again, they're not playing in similar offenses (aside from Wilson and RGIII). Luck has over 1k more yards thanks to those 200+ more pass attempts and more INTs. One could argue that his passing TDs should be higher and that's a valid argument. I'm not suggesting that Luck should get it - I don't think he will or that he deserves it, but he's in the conversation and he is far from just 'not sucking' as a rookie. These 3 guys as well as a few others give the NFL hope for another decade plus of great QB play.
