GOP, 2012: Angry White Men and Their Women

Honestly, that is what the Republican party has become. Think about it...

Think about most of the obnoxious conservatives in this forum: Angry White Men....it says it all. They've been drinking the Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck Kool-Aid for over 20 years now. Is it really surprising, then, that the party no longer appeals to anyone else--especially with their seething contempt and venomous attacks toward anyone who dares to disagree with them?

The Democrats went though a similar thing...between 1968 and 1988, when they lost 5 out of 6 Presidential elections, because they were out-of-touch with the country (too beholden to bleeding heart liberals and minorities.) Between 1992 and 2012, the Republicans have now lost the popular vote for President in 5 of the 6 elections, for the same reason (too beholden to the Tea Party and talk radio addicts.)

Until the GOP admits they have a a big problem, and are out-of-touch, and seek to moderate their policies and rhetoric....they will remain the party of Angry White Men and the Women Who Love Them. They must find ways to appeal to larger numbers of Blacks, Asians, women, and Hispanics--otherwise they are screwed. And they will continue to struggle to win national elections.

It's simple math. Demographic shifts have become political inertia, and the GOP has to recognize that reality--instead of pretending not to notice.

In 1992, Clinton brought the Democratic party back toward the mainstream. For the GOP to turn things around in 2016, they'll need to do the same thing. Whenever political parties are sucked into lunatic fringe politics, they alienate the voters who matter--in our republic, a majority. Republicans had better soon remember the role of majority rule in our country, or they may yet become this century's version of the Whigs.

Exactly what form of recognition do you feel is appropriate for a conservative to show?

You few here sitting around waxing philosophic about the 'angry white man' are amusing in that the white men you don't want to see angry are far from being angry as of now.
They finally got angry. How you like 'em now Kotter?

'White men' being a euphemism for men and women of any color, creed, religion, or walk of life that are sick and tired of the status quo and don't want, trust, or like hillary.

I have no problem with their anger; it's their blood pressure not mine. I still don't think it's viable long-term. I'm shocked at the election, like most; but I wish him the best. Now that he has the job, I want him to succeed. I'm not real hopeful, but the tone he has struck thus far indicates he's at least trying...for now.

Well, I don't think the Soros movement or NeoCons are going to allow him to succeed if they can help it. Plan B is already in operation. Next will be an attempt to flood his cabinet with NeoCons from both the left or right. This will allow his head to be filled with false threats or withold information and possibly have some rogue operation running while they compartmentalize, so they can create some scandal on which they can impeach him. TIf all else fails try to assassinate him. There is so much Machiavellian evil around government all through history because power corrupts and the worst gravitate toward it and try to get some of it even if a leader means well. Currently there is way too much corruption in many institutions. Just look at the mess in the UN. Corrupt. EU corrupt. Saudi Arabia, Qatar corrupt.

Anything like the above is possible.

My point is that most of the easily identified 'bad actors' are the people LEADING the 'official' BLM chapters.

Again, the incident in Wichita (read about it) was condemned by ALL official BLM chapters. They don't want dialogue. They want anarchy in the streets.

No, he just needs to be around when a few USSC justices retire. The odds are pretty good that he'll be making 3-4 appointments.
