Who do you choose?

If you had to choose, would you take (Priest(injured) and LJ) or would you take (Dayne, M. Anderson, and T. Bell)?

In this scenario you have to factor in the possibility that LJ goes down leaving you with nothing or one of Denver's backs goes down lwaving you with the other two.
IMHO that makes the choice a whole lot tougher.
My whole point is I think Priest may be done. Now KC is left with only LJ. Would you take the broncos 3 decent backs or would you rather have the explosive/implosive LJ only?

if priest wasn't injured and his career not in jeopardy, i would take priest + LJ pretty easily cause priest is a superb back. otherwise, i go with bell + dayne + anderson...it ensures we're deep and can handle any injuries, always have a fresh back in the fourth quarter, and can punish up the middle as well as having one of the better big play backs in the league.

So what is the booger-picker Shana-rat involved in this.
Like he's the difference maker?

LJ, Priest would rule in Dungver.

This time next year will be a good time to tell whether LJ is an actual feature back or not. He is coming off of big games against the two worst defenses in the NFL.

Let's see how he does against real defenses that include him in their gameplan week in and week out for a whole season while getting 20-30 carries a game after half the current KC O-line retires.

Wrong. Denver's running scheme is not for everyone. It is a disciplined stretch offense that relies on quick hits.

Priest would be damn good if he would conform to the one-cut- and- run-downhill system.

LJ has a bit too much Clinton Portis attitude in him to make it in Denver. He would be flashing that ghetto diamond sign out of the plane window while his ass was being traded to Washington.

LJ tore up the Broncos last year when you were a top defense.

Next year Bell may be more productive but the question was obviously meant to ask who you would take NOW (pointed out by the inclusion of the injured Holmes.)

Right now the Donks are the no 1 team stopping the run. If LJ tops 100 against you guys I'd say that proves he's one tough hombre...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Agreed. the league, coaches and fans have become somewhat tired of the attention grabbing, I need more money antics of players on the field. Fans continue to pay higher ticket prices while listening to players complain about only making 5 million this year. I think all running backs and wide receivers should do like the Denver O line and keep their F'ing mouths shut and let their play do the talking.

I think its already been established that LJ is tough. You don't make it to the NFL without being tough.
IMHO you can't tell whether a RB is the real deal until they are the starter for a season. Anderson is starting over Bell because he has proved to be more durable over a season. I'm not knocking LJs ability, I'm taking a wait-and-see.
This Sunday will be very interesting, I can't wait to see how it plays out.
Denver really wants to win and KC really has to; it should be a frigging head knocker.

You look at the last 6 meetings and the team that runs better wins.

Ground game and turnovers are deciding factors this time...

Exactly.

The Bronco defense last year gave up 3.82 ypc. Johnson took them for 30 carries, 151 yards, and 2 TD's.

The Bronco defense this year is giving up 3.98 ypc.

There's only one way the Broncos stop Larry Johnson.

Denver's defense is 2nd in the league in rushing yards per game and 1st in attempts against. They're 28th in the league in passing yards per game and 32nd in attempts against.

Denver needs to get an early lead and hold it. This game isn't about their defense, it's about their offense.

I think the fact that you are comparing three backs to two
(basically one) answers your question.

There is no comparison.

I think we have a winner.

The Chiefs have GOT to get to a lead early -- and FGs ain't gonna cut it.

If they do that, they take away the play-action Jake relies upon and force him into making stupid mistakes. He's been doing well this year because he's played within the system and stopped trying to be Elway.

But he can be rattled and piss the game away, and that's something he seems to do often at Arrowhead. (Anyone know his career stats in KC?).

Get a lead, get the crowd going, steamroll LJ through their defense, and the INTs will fall like rain.

LJ has a long way to go before he proves he is a reasonable replacement for Priest, as much as KC fans would like to believe otherwise.

Denver's D does not need any help in containing LJ, and that's all they have to do to keep KC's offense between the 20s. On paper it looks like KC's scoring will come 3 points at a time.
