What's your favorite wine?

For us wine drinkers, I'm curious about your favorite "drinking" wine (as in, something uner $15 a bottle).

I'm partial to the 2002 Hill of Gold Shiraz (Rosemont Estates) and the 2002 Coppola Premium Claret. Right now, I'm drinking a 2003 Coppola Zin.

Because I'm a golfer(well I used to be.) I couldn't resist trying the Arnold Palmer Cabernet when I saw it on the shelf. Same for the Greg Norman. They're both very good. The Palmer can be had for about $10.00 and the Norman is around$13.00/14.00.

Hey BOCF, you once posted over at Phobia's place a thread about some box wines that has since disappeared. Could you post those again here?

Box wines:
Black Box cab is surprisingly good. The Sonoma County Reserve Merlot is also good, but pricier.

For cheap table wines, we've been drinking Bohemian Highway Merlot lately. Surprisingly complex and good.

I'm a wine n00b, but I have learned I like the sweet whites more than I like the heavy reds. I'd like to become more educated on the subject.

Try some Rieslings.
I'm a red wine freak, and I only have a snobby palate when it comes to reds (though I'll drink cheap red wine, too, in a pinch). I honestly can't distinguish too much between a really good white and a value white that well. With reds, I can definitely tell the difference.

I also tend to like the sweet whites. I have tried to break into the reds by purchasing Beringer's White Merlot or White Zinfindel.

Wine tastings are awesome. My wife and I went to our local wine festival last year for her birthday present. $60 a ticket, but it was money well spent. We went with another couple, and we all had a great time. Awesome food and, obviously, awesome wine.
