Bowes says we're going Deep /gonna blow up the scoreboard

I just hope blowing up the scoreboard isn't considered a terroristic threat or Bowe may be done for the year.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe likes new offense
Sat, 20 Apr 2013 09:58:30 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe said he likes the offense that head coach Andy Reid has brought to the team. "Throwing the ball deep, that's something we haven't done in the past so I'm excited right now. The play calling is totally different from last year. It's not check downs or putting it in the running back's hands. This guy likes to go down the field, take the top off (the defense) and that's something we haven't done in the past, put up a lot of points. This season he said we're going to blow out the scoreboard and that's something I'm looking forward to," Bowe said.

Chiefs | Not committed to trading Branden Albert
Sat, 20 Apr 2013 09:12:32 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said the team is not committed to trading OT Branden Albert even though they have allowed his agent to talk with the Miami Dolphins. "Branden Albert is a good football player," Dorsey said. "We wouldn't have stuck the franchise tag on him if he wasn't. It's my job to explore all options and that's kind of what's going on."

Per Omar Kelly ( Miami beat writer)

I believe there's a greater chance Miami trades up for Lane Johnson than trades for Branden Albert. Too much down talking Johnson.

What would the jets and Dorsey have to talk about if the jets want to move down?

Made up nonsense.

Would be fine with me, if this was just all to get Albert to sign with KC

Kaepernick didn't have any trouble having success with deep passes in the same offense with the same coach. So if your argument is that Smith wasn't asked to throw deep, it was because Harbaugh had no confidence in his ability to do so, but did for Kaepernick.

Any way you slice it, the deep ball isn't a strength of Alex Smith's game. To date he has shown that can be a role player and game manager in a run-oriented offense. That isn't the role of the QB in Andy Reid's offense. Alex Smith is going to be asked to do things he has never done well. He doesn't have a lot of natural talent to fall back on. He's not a guy that does well under pressure. These are things we know. This is the reality. There seems to be more evidence to justify pessimism than optimism.

Here's how I see it through the eyes of a man with hope.

If Albert is traded, Joeckel or Fisher is the pick.
If Albert isn't traded and we are able to move down, Jordan is the pick.
If Albert isnt traded and we can't move down, Genos the pick.

Probably not realistic, but it's possible.

It's possible because we have no idea what's going on. The one thing I'll say is there is a lot of smoke around us taking an OT. Albert's forcing our hand if he isn't traded. So maybe they do take Geno. Doubt it.

While i agree in principle with almost everything, its worth asking... what exactly does Reid see that we dont, that makes him think Smith CAN execute a deep passing offense?

There has to be some metric we're not seeing if Reid isnt planning to drastically alter his offense.

Either way, i'm glad to hear Bowe likes what he's seeing so far, i still have hope for a solid offense.

Whatever he sees falls into the "potential" category because it hasn't been demonstrated on the field. This is a fact. Potential requires development. We will go into the season with a 29 year old project. The best case scenario is that these abilities develop. People that aren't thrilled have reason to have that attitude.

Is Dorsey saying this because people are saying the Jags want Jordan?
