Official 2012-2013 NBA Thread

Looks like James Harden has been To the Rockets for Jeremey Lamb, Kevin Martin and future picks. Plus... this is a general NBA thread.

Kukoc was never going to be more than a 4th option and stretch 3-4 He was a great role player (instant offense), but never much more than that.

The Bulls built their team through drafting and wise FA moves. Miami's team is totally different.

Jordan was drafted. Pippen was essentially drafted, as Krause worked a trade for him after falling in love with him and swapping him with Seattle for Olden ****ing Polynice. Kukoc was drafted...and so on.

Paxton, Armstrong were like that as well. The second team had more FA role players like Kerr, Longley, Ron Harper...

Arguing the form of construction, not the result.

Well, not quite. Elite rebounder for his size and excellent defender, but you could make a strong argument that Rodman was the fourth best defensive stopper on that team, after Pippen, Jordan, and Harper.

However, Pippen is a legit top-5 all-time defender. Best perimeter defender of all time..

Actually, the reason the Heat are winning and one of the best teams in the league is because they ARE playing as a team. They are very unselfish, even with all that star power. OKC is like that as well, same with SAS and LAC to name a few.

Everyone thought the Lakers in 2004 and 2012 would be nigh unstoppable, and yet they floundered in part due to injury and age, but also due to chemistry.

Miami has tremendous chemistry.

I think the Spurs from few years ago would defensively beat the Heat up

Nobody will ever be on Jordan's level. That's not fair to LeBron. LeBron is LeBron. Kobe is Kobe. MJ is MJ (GOAT). MJ's will to win is what separates the two if you're gonna talk about that. I have never seen a person, not just player, but a person have the will to win at EVERYTHING like he did on the court. You never DOUBTED Michael Jordan. Ever. The guy was simply amazing and relentless. And he did it ALL THE TIME. We'll never see another like him. If we did, we'd be blessed. Words can't describe him fairly.

Bowen could frustrate Wade with dirty play, but Lebron would just physically dominate Bowen, Ginobili, or Stephen Jackson.

They'd also have to run Duncan out to guard Bosh away from the paint, and they always lacked an interior shot blocker.

High screen with Lebron rolling to the rack could frustrate that defense.
