Are you seriously saying that Rivera didn't deserve it? Jeter? These are hall of famers who will be considered all time greats. It has nothing to do with them being Yankees. They just happen to be two all time greats retiring in back to back years. Which is interesting, because both of those guys were groomed in New York.

GBlowfish you crack me up my man. I hate the Yankees too but give Jeter a little bit of props. He deserves this to be the "Derek Jeter All-Star Game." I say that as one of the biggest anti-Jeter people of the last 15 years.

Oh no, I think he did. I was about to make that exact same post. I think a couple of Cal's classic homers were grooved. Especially the All-Star game homer.

I've heard stories about catchers tipping off George Brett during his last year. It's something that happens. The pitcher doesn't go ruin it by saying he threw the guy a cookie though.

Let me explain something to you.

I'm an old school Royals Fan.

Old
School.

There was a day when we battled the Yankees to get into the World Series. You probably don't understand that.

I wasn't exactly broken up when Thurman Munson crashed his plane.
Didn't bother me much when a drunken Billy Martin ran off the road and killed himself.
Didn't shed a tear when Steinbrenner kicked it.

Screw the Yankees.
They buy their success.
Anything that weakens them makes me smile.

I say good riddance to Rivera. Glad he's out of baseball. Same for Jeter. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I'll let Cooperstown suck them off in public. I just see them as enemy combatants.

Ha! Yeah. Totally. I didn't tune in for the pitch but I was thinking earlier today at work that Jeter was going to lead off the game with a HR because Wainwright was going to groove one to him. It was also going to annoy me tremendously because, while I think Jeter deserves all of the praise/celebrations he's received this year, I don't need to hear anything else about how amazingly "clutch" he is because he hit an All-Star game HR on a grooved/tipped pitch.

The Flip
Mr. November
3000 hit being a HR

...last thing I wanted was another "clutch" Jeter moment. At an All-Star game nonetheless. But yeah, great player. Did everything the right way. Now kindly **** off Mr. Jeter!!
