Bomb Exploded at Boston Marathon Finish Line

I've heard an unconfirmed report (a co-worker's girlfriend called him) that there was a bomb at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, with people injured. I am hearing multiple sirens, though I'm not in the Copley area.

Miranda rights are ONLY necessary if you intend to use the guy's statements against them in court. If you don't give them, the guy doesn't automatically go free or anything. It ONLY means that whatever he says can't be introduced into evidence against him at trial.

If you have, SAY, videotape of the guy dropping off a bag that later explodes AND evidence at where he lived that he had bomb making devices AND evidence on his computer about bombs and planning this AND a carjacking AND a shoout with the police AND a murder of an MIT police officer (that you feel confident can be tied back to him), then you really don't need a freaking confession do you?

I was just relaying what the TV said.

That said, unless we find some kind of letter these guys might have been the worst terrorists ever. If your goal is to terrorize people into submitting to your demands or agenda then it's generally a good idea to make sure people are pretty clear on what that is. Why would they tell that guy they were the bombers but not deliver their message. Strange

I read somewhere that they had to stop for gasoline and the driver just ran off. they did not chase him, so he called the police. he had GPS in his car and they were able to track the car's GPS. I've learned that if I ever carjack a car, it will be an old one with a full tank.

What about the whole "You have a right to an attorney" part? I just think it might get sticky for the authorities if they didn't Marandize an American citizen.

The kid is in a hospital, likely on meds. I doubt the feds are getting info from him which they plan on using against him in court. The second he's stable, he will be more formally "processed."

Dude's right. Also, they can Mirandize the suspect at any time so they might do it at the hospital or in the amberlamps or wherever.
