Would enjoy a qb competition this year. Only problem is we don't have any legit NFL qbs on the roster.

Stanzi can stand in the pocket much better than Cassel, that's for damn sure.

You maybe right on that, but that doesn't mean the other guys don't deserve an opportunity to find out. Stanzi didn't get the opportunity last year, didn't even suit up for the fourth preseason game so how the **** do you know how he is going turn out good or bad? You assume he sucks because he is just a back up QB that was drafted in the 5th round. Untill he gets ample playing time there isn't a fair amount to judge him for. So it would be nice to just get to see with our own eyes the truth. It wouldn't hurt this team one damn ****ing bit if Stanzi or Quinn got a chance to play with the first unit for competition at the number one job. It's not happening because they have decided before TC started not to give Matt Cassell competition. So is that fair to the Chiefs players or us fans not to see them get the opportunity? Is that too much to ask for players get an opportunity to upseat the incumbent QB challenged Matt Cassell?

Buddy. Been a fan too long to worry about backup qbs getting their fair shot. I could care less about the name on the back of the Jersey. Since 1988 other than the gannon Grbac debacle. And at that time gannon was nothing more than some career backup. I haven't seen one backup qb in kc actually be better than the starter. As much as the fans think so and assume shit into facts. It has yet to happen.

I have zero control over it and sure in the hell ain't going to.lose sleep over it.

See that's the thing, we never have true competition for the job. Carl would just get a reject QB from another team and that's who started untill they broke apart in mid-air. That's how it is now with Matt Cassell he needs to have someone in his back pocket not just the names of Stanzi or Quinn but that they havn't had the opportunity to give him the challenge. I have been a fan long time too & I would love nothing more than a draft pick QB get the opportunity & would really wish we would go with a first rounder to do that.

True QB competitions are an absolute rarity in the NFL. That's the fact. Any given year, you're lucky if there's more than one. This year, I can only think of the Dolphins and the Titans. Matt Flynn had the big money in Seattle, Russell Wilson was a pipe dream.

QB decisions are more political than they are anything else. You go with the money in almost every circumstance. Almost every single one.

On NFL net they showed about 5-6 plays of Cards on offense and our defense was breaking up the plays. I didn't see one completion. They didn't have a pass rush or front line doing much on them plays.

Teicher is a damn clown.

Everyone else reports how Cassel threw a couple picks and almost had another on a badly underthrown ball that Baldwin saved...but Teicher says it was "slightly underthrown"...when a 5'8" corner almost has an easy interception when covering a 6'5" beast, the pass had to be terrible.

Then, he doesnt give Stanzi any credit for leading multiple touchdown drives, but is quick to point out his two mistakes (on back to back plays)

I'll take a qb that throws 3 tds (and has 10 completions in a row in the process) and throws one pick....ALL DAY.

I don't care what college he went to...I'm not reading about Cassel or Quinns touchdown driveS today.

From what I gathered, Stanzi threw 3 td passes against Arizonas second team and Quinn and Cassel combined for one.

Oh well.

**** it.

I expect Stanzi to throw fire in preseason and get buried as third on the depth chart anyway.
There is a video of Baldwin's catch on the Arizona Cardinals website. The ball from Cassel looks right on target to me. Over the outstretched hands of the corner and put high enough for Baldwin to go up and get it while easily staying in bounds. The video also shows some rough throws from Stanzi as reported.

Why is it that the KC Chiefs are the only team in a 30year span not to draft a QB to be deamed the starting QB & expected to be a franchise QB?

Well, we have once. Herm thought Croyle could be the guy.

Thanks for reminding me of that.
