Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

7:00 minute mark, he makes a great throw on a 2pt convo that gets dropped.

And the throw at the beginning of the 4th quarter looks better live than it does in the OP.

And people saying he couldn't lead them back, watch the last drive of the game. If the WR makes the sideline catch with 9 seconds to go, he has a chance to get them in FG range for the win.

Seriously, the OU film is the stuff I bring out to convert people. The look on their face from the 1st half to the second is awesome when they realize he can be ours.

That 2nd interception at about the 4 minute mark is the throw that scares me with him.

Every now and then he falls in love with the touch he can put on a pass and he shorts his follow-through. He doesn't rotate his hips, doesn't transfer his weight and he floats one that needs some velocity.

The ball gets there late, gets popped up and picked. Had he stepped into his throw and made the throw he's more than capable of making, its an 18 yard completion. Instead he floats that ball up there because he got lazy with his lower half and it was huge in the ultimate outcome of that game.

That's purely mechanics and is replaced by repetition. Solid off-season work plus Geno working on it on his own time fixes that entirely.

Yep. I noticed that as well.

It's coach able, but it's something he needs to work on. He needed to drive that one in there.

That wasn't mechanics, it was mental.

He absolutely has the physical ability to fire those hips through and rocket that throw in, and does it fairly often.

He elected to take it easy on that throw.

Like I said, his decisionmaking makes me nervous sometimes. Decisionmaking isn't just about who to throw it to, it's also about how to throw it there. In that instance he made the right decision on the target and the wrong decision on the type.

Very much so.

He obviously makes the right decision more times than not, but it is something to look at.

Sometimes I just don't get Mitch.

Now he's spent the last 10 minutes talking about how much he admires Mike Shanahan for what he's doing in Washington.

Hey Mitch, they traded UP and took a QB. HELLO!!!!
