Good suggestion. I've never tried one and never thought of this before but I am intrigued.

Use a peeler like for a potato or carrot. They're good raw too.

I'd rather throw in some radishes for a peppery note

But see? now you've got me thinking...

Got a big ol' crockpot of hamburger soup working away now. Rolls are rising. I just got up from a glorious mid-day nap and I think I'll drink some beer.

We had a hamburger potato casserole thing one night last week. It was simple and really good.

Put a chili rubbed whole chicken on the smoker earlier today for a white chicken chili. I plan to shred the chicken and thawed out some Hatch chiles I've been hoarding to toss in with some cannellini beans; all built atop a mirepoix.

Simple is best most of the time. Hard to beat meat and potatoes in most combos.

This sounds like a winner. I make a generic white chicken chili on the regular, but this is next level shit. Always do avocado and cilantro and a little hot sauce for garnish.

I like 'em in beef stew for variety. It should go quite well in a pot roast.
