Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.


Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?



Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I will try to find it but the wound channel and the secondary wound channel caused by the 45 is greater than that of a 9..that is what I am trying to say

I get that the 9 on paper looks very close to a 45 but I have seen what they both do in the real world..from seeing all of that I would rather have a 45..if you guys trust the 9 to do the job that is great it is all about personal preference but after all I have seen I will not trust a 9..even more so when someone is drugged up and coming towards me

When I was working investigations in Europe (back in the 70s) I was carrying a 1911 until my supervisor "informed" me that we were going to the 9mm. I loved the new guns (Sigs) but hated the 9mm.

To this day I am a Sig guy but long ago switched back to the .45. I have a couple of 9mm's - but use them for plinking only - which, in my opinion, is about all they are good for. Now, having said that, they WILL kill you dead and the FPS is good on those rounds. Maybe a little too good. Part of the problem with stopping power is that they tend to go through fast, without a lot of damage. Hitting someone with a 45 is like taking a ball bat to the chest.

I've heard of people taking .45 rounds and getting up....but not very often.

You could use the same argument with a 380..nobody wants to get shot..I don't care if people shoot a 9..the guy asked between a 9 and 45..I told him my opinion on my experience with both guns..I have seen the damage cause by both first hand..I would rather trust my life with a 45 if I had to pick out of those 2

I don't have a problem with either round, or the choices people make as far as their protection goes. My problem arises when people start telling ME what I should shoot, or carry as protection. Its like motorcycles. I don't care what you ride, but the second you turn your nose up at my bike because it's not a Harley, you are dead to me.
