*.* 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*

Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

No one else started it so here it is!

**From the 2013 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

Keep it up!

The weight is going to take awhile, it isn't all going to fall off in one day/week/month. But if you keep up your diet and run a caloric deficit everyday, add in the cardio exercise, by my math you will literally cease to exist in the not so distant future..

Trust me, there's plenty of fat left...lol. Also, that's just a guess. I know that I'll continue to build muscle tissue. I have litte biceps and triceps now, as well as more definition in my calves and my quads just above the knees. My goal is 25% body fat. I'll be fine with whatever weight that puts me at. And if I think I need to tweak my goal from there, then I will.

It's been self-motivating for quite sometime. I haven't really even been focusing on results more than I have been the change itself. Setting daily goals, developing a passion for fitness, and discovering all sorts of things about myself. It's been a fun ride so far.

Wow. That's amazing. You don't even look 188 in the last pic. Look like you weigh much less. Congrats.

Just finished at the chest machine

Notice a womyn trying to put the handle bar in the pull-down machine
She is clearly being oppresed by our male-dominated physics laws that put her gender height at disadvantage

We make eye contact

She knows what a gender-normative ableist privileged man like me can do to her
My body starts pumping testosterone at incredible levels

Suddenly all sounds stop

All cisgender males gather around us with luscious looks in their faces
My muscles grow three times in size as she begins speaking with a trembling voice
"C-c-ould you" - men around us began to beat their chests and throw weight plates around

"Could you please help me with this? "

She is now covered in sweat as I grab the handlebar

Guys are now screaming in unholy screams of brutal masculinity

I put the handlebar in place. My now extremely big arms are now covered in thick hair and my male hormones can be smelled all over the gym.

She says: "T-t-thank you" in an obvious attempt to ease the pain that my numerous violations of her security have provoked

All males are now pissing at the gym equipment to mark their territory.
I smirk at her and slowly say: "It was my privilege".

She cannot take this abuse and falls down to the ground covered in tears and assumes fetal position.

I walk away with the accomplishment of exercising my patriarchal birthright once again.

Squat PR tonight 450x1. The rest of the week is trying to smash PR's, then I deload next week and I'm seriously contemplating just taking the entire week off and just going for a walk with my 2 1/2 year old for 'cardio' lol. Definitely need some time off as I've done 3 straight 5/3/1 cycles without a deload, and starting to get some achy joints. Holding steady @ 235lbs so I will let this run its course for a few more cycles or until weights start stalling, then I'll start leaning out. Either PSMF or some sort of Keto.. whichever I can hold more strength on.

I squatted 125x8 tonight. My PR is 135x5. That seems pretty light now...lol.

I'm jealous of luv's progress so I'm just gonna rationalize it by guessing she's doing blow and smoking cigs.

Your on track to blow your PR away girl. Most people just go in and 'wing it', not keep tracking of weights or reps or jumping around from machine to machine. They wonder why they look the same after 6 months or so and have 0 progress. Keep on track, your doing awesome.

Hey dude, some people can't handle not hitting a certain weight so winging it avoids the mental meltdown of not being able to lift something. Or so I've been told.
