Rank your most and least favorite characters on "The Office".

Let's go with the American version.

I'll limit this to characters who appeared on 100 or more episodes. Use the easily sortable list below to list your characters in descending order of favoritesness. I have conveniently sorted them in my own preference to subtly influence you.

Creed Bratton
Dwight Schrute
Jim Halpert
Meredith Palmer
Kevin Malone
Toby Flenderson
Ryan Howard
Kelly Kapoor
Oscar Martinez
Stanley Hudson
Pam Beesly
Angela Martin
Phyllis Vance
Michael Scott
Erin Hannon
Daryl Philbin
Andy Bernard

Originally I loved Jim Halperts role.
During Season 1 and 2 when he would mess with Dwight and not care so much about Pam, he was awesome. Then his role became too sappy and I started to find him annoying. (Obviously the show was moving his role more to the likes of the females who are looking for that perfect romantic guy).

I'd say I dislike Angela the most.... she is just not appealing at all.

I always liked Meredith. She was funny.

Erin's on top because that's where I'd like her. This past season or so made Pam take a tremendous slide down the list, (she's a filthy whore who wants to **** some boom mic guy while she crushes her husbands dreams).
She would have been in the top 5 without those plot twists.

Dwight Schrute - Not even a ? IMO
Michael Scott - Wasn't his only line in the finale "That's what she said.?.?"
Kevin Malone - Making crying sounds to make Pam lactate
Jim Halpert - The Mighty Prankster
Andy Bernard - Loved The Nard-Dog his 1st couple seasons
Angela Martin - She's probably nice as hell IRL
Kelly Kapoor - The Indian Julia Roberts
Daryl Philbin - Other than Jim, Daryl's the guy we'd "be"
Ryan Howard - If I worked with this character IRL I'd eventually punch him.
Oscar Martinez - Was going to move him down, but screwing Angela's husband earns him some props
Pam Beesly - She's good but falls b/c of the romance bs
Stanley Hudson - I love crosswords too, but he's just someone for Michael to antagonize IMO
Meredith Palmer - boner killer but her crassness earns some cred
Creed Bratton - Too much "I'm crazy and don't really do anything here" for me. Him being made manger was great though.
Toby Flenderson - His character is funny, but Michael's hate for him is funnier
Phyllis Vance - ZZZ "Bob Vance" ZZZ
Erin Hannon - Don't get her, i guess b/c I'm not adopted

The worst characters were the ones that never seemingly developed out of the cartoon character phase.

Kevin is a good idea, with simply terrible acting. God, he has always been awful.

Meredith never, ever developed.

Bad actors piss me off. Whoever played Stanley was never good.

Sympathetic Andy was always shit. But Dumbass Andy was funny the first couple of seasons.

Phyllis gets a pass, because the writers never, ever actually did anything too hard with her -- just gave her hilarious lines that she delivered hysterically shy. I love her.

And they never did a single interesting thing with Daryl. Ever. Like, not once. They literally kept him around so they could have a black guy.

That said, there were some outstanding acting on this show over the years.

Steve Carell, of course, is probably now one of the finest actors in sitcom history.

Dwight Shrute can't be far behind. That dude was magnetic, even when the material blew.

Jim and Pam were both acted extremely well, particularly Pam. Jim was always just a great character.

When they weren't doing stupid shit with him, I thought Oscar was well acted, and of course Mindy Kaling became one of the series best actors as she got older.

In all their limited glory: Erin was great, as was Toby and Phyllis, who were never asked to do much but always, always killed.

I'll go with the popular guy, too. I'm down with Creed. Especially in the early years when he was a total wildcard.

I also love that they never, ever softened Angela.

As for Carell's girlfriends, I think Jan was very well acted, and her life-arc was sadly believable. Holly was cute, but that's about it.

Oh, one other shit sandwich this show gave us, was Kathy Bates.

Why, in god's name, was that character a character.

Why.

Did anybody buy into this character for a minute? Anybody?

I think Kevin is one of those guys who only need to say 1 thing per show but he will still be funny as shit. His ending was perfect when he got fired and eating his cake crying "well, at least I got cake" I was rolling

I thought when he kept getting Michael to say "Flicka Dinkum" or whatever it was was pretty funny.
