Atlanta Fed confirms: the "Trump Boom" is here

During his nomination speech, God-Emperor said "I alone can fix it". Turns out, he was right:

So, the Atlanta Fed is the Gospel....but the CBO can't be believed because they are 'Fake News'? You selective attention and cherry-picking of studies/polls/reports that you like or don't like, is duly noted.

In fairness, it had gone down pre-election but its definitely higher than its ever been

Never gave him.tbe credit....even said 'in fairness ' it was down PRE election....implying that it may have gone up post election regardless....was just making a factual observation that since election day I am up about 30%

I do expect a correction but it might be a year or two away.

And no, I won't blame Trump for it. In fact if his admin does the right thing and raises Interest rates.more..which Obama failed to do....i expect stocks to come down....but I will credit him with doing the right thing.

I'm pretty fair minded when it comes to obama...you don't see me criticizing him over every little thing. I think he was a good president. But one huge failure was kicking the interest rate can down the road, artificially inflating markets.

Also, even witjin a retirement account...if you have ETF's instead of money market funds or mutual.funds, you can set stops.

And of course you can use stops with stocks within an its ir 401k as well.

I prefer ETF's for that reason

Not all of us are fortunate enough to have enough to make our money work for us. Not like that. Instead, most of us have to work for our money. And if you have to work for your money, there's not a whole lot of time to play the stock market games and gamble with what's taking so much to earn.

Yeah I get it, some people work hard enough and get lucky through that hard work to earn enough to play with. On the other hand, some of us are lucky enough to get a 10 million dollar loan from their dads...and then try to claim how smart they were. For every Sam Walton and Bill Gates, there are dozens of Donald Trump's running around. And of course, they think they all made it on their own...

I'm no investment counselor but saving and investing 10% of your income is something my father taught me at a young age and I recommend it. From the crystal clear college fund jar that sat on my parent's kitchen counter (not unlike Caddy Shack), to the crystal clear jar that sits on my kitchen counter for my sons; kids see/learn very quickly how fast 10% of everything they earn (including allowance) grows into something bigger.

I'm no millionaire, but I'm not worried either. And from the days the Navy had me diving in some of the crappiest, cold, leach-infested and shitty waters the earth had to offer, for way too little coin, I've done the 10% thing and usually more. All while working my ass off.

You and I spar plenty here, that's cool, but because you're a teacher I have respect for you.

I know if you can internalize and carry out the 10% thing, I know it works. It's just that real life, real wages, real healthcare costs, unexpected emergencies, runaway inflation in some sectors, and the daily grind of life becomes a powerful excuse for too many....for whom, for most of our lives, 10% was sometimes the difference between paying the mortgage or having your car re-possessed. If you've been fortunate enough to be able to stick with it, bravo. It took far too long for me to get there. I wish it were easier for others who aren't as fortunate, I guess.

No one does in the beginning unless they are in the 1% that gets it handed to them. But being frugal, saving 10+% doesn't seem like much but it begins to snowball after 15 or 20 years.

A retirement account is a great vehicle to do this, because many employers match your contribution. I worked at a shitty job for 12 years out of high school while I worked my way through college and grad school. After 12 years, I had saved 50G , by putting in only around 5% at 1st then increasing to 6, then 7 as I made a little more money.

I then took a loan against my retirement account to buy my 1st property , and paid it back.

Yes some people do have things handed to them...thats ok...but ordinary people can do a lot with the investment vehicles provided. My aunt, who was a teacher ...like you....was very frugal and taught elementary school for 40 years...being diligent and contributing 10% to her IRA...when she retired at 65 ....she had a million dollars in her IRA and had paid off her house...on a Colorado teachers salary.

It can be done...the problem is most people do not do what is needed ...and waste money on 4$ lattes and new cars and other shit they don't need.

I ate beans, rice , tuna...i bought turkeys on sale and used every part of them.....for a week....I rented rooms out even though it killed me to lose my privacy....i did this till I was like 32...

Its hard to watch all your friends drive new cars and have nice clothes and toys. But when you're 50 and you start to see those same people still renting and still wasting money....while you are amassing wealth and passive income and property instead of debt...you don't care about the toys any more.

I take pride in my shitty clothes and shitty truck and older furniture, knowing im setting myself up for the future
