OK, now its time. The Raider D is giving up tons of yardage, the Battle of the Bay went SF 472, Raiders 471. I think the Chiefs will rack up a similar amount. The Raider's success is dependent upon the play of Gannon. He plays well, we win. He's off, we lose. He was off the entire first half in SF, threw for about 50 yards. He was on in the second half ('cept for the bonehead INT), and he kicked butt. Which is more than Kowski kicked. Special teams saved our butts (missed FG's notwithstanding). Field position was in our favor bigtime. Blocked a punt, blocked a FG.
My prediction: Raiders were rusty, but went thru a rude awakening against SF. They're awake now, and the sense of urgency will carry over to the Arrowhead game. Gannon will be "on" for 3 quarters after a rough start (Raider trend this year), but Raiders get it together. KC has big day. Oakland has big day. Kowski finally kicks a winning FG... Raiders 30, KC 27 What do you expect from a Raider homer? |

Does anyone know the Harmon Forecast for the Raiders at Arrowhead? Hold on a sec, I'll go check.....Hmmmm...hmmmm...dum-de-dum.....
Oh, here it is....Whoa! Check it out! The Harmon Forecast has the Raiders over the Chiefs 27-21. Hey - these guys are right 80% of the time, looks like they have a different view than most Chief fans. I'm feeling even better now! |

On paper this match up looks too good to be true...They only put 6 points on the board in the 1st half against the NFL's worst rated D. We all saw what happen when they played a solid D in SD, they almost got shutout...Any thing can happen when the emotion of a big rivalry gets involved, but on paper we could very conceivably shut these punks out especially considering it is in Arrowhead. As for our offense moving it on their D, that should not be a problem considering everyone except the most feeble of offenses (i.e. the Browns and the R.Leaf lead Bolts) have blistered them for an average of 30 points...This should be a lot of fun...I can't imagine anything sweeter than taking the division lead and smashing the Faiders all in the same weekend.

The week off gives the CHIEFS the edge in this one, along with the FACT that we are a better football team than they are. Faiders go down hard at Arrowhead..

I am thinking this will not be a close game. The Chiefs might stop themselves, but the Raiders can't.
I have been wanting to see the Chiefs break out with a perfectly balanced game for a full 60 minutes and I think this could be it. I even think that the coaching staff might be wise enough (after last years experience) not to just sit on a lead! Chiefs 42 Raiders 16 Luz book it... |

I really hope we kill these punks. I have an uneasy feeling however. The early line has us as slight favorites, only because of home field advantage (KC by 3, USA Today). We seem to play well against highly touted media darlings in our house. However, they are our biggest rivals and when we are pretty evenly matched as we are this year, the games are nailbiters. My heart says:
KC 42 Oak 17 My brain says: KC 20 Oak 17 OT Oh, I am also leary of the fact that we are coming off of a bye and may be a little out of sinc on offense. |

Raiders 17 Tim Brown is good for a touchdown plus 1 rushing TD by either an RB or Gannon plus a Janikowski field goal. Although I liked Gannon when he was here, he is now with our arch rival. I hope Hicks decapitates him. ------------------------ Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearle Harbor? HELL NO!!! [This message has been edited by Otter (edited 10-10-2000).] |
