After winning his first PGA tournament, Danny Lee just wanted a friend—a female one, preferably.
Lee, a 24-year-old South Korean-born New Zealander, took home the hardware at The Greenbrier Classic on Sunday after beating out David Hearn, Kevin Kisner and Robert Streb in a four-way playoff.
The victory netted Lee $1.2 million, but according to ESPN's Jason Sobel, what he wanted most was a special someone to celebrate with.
That sound you hear now is a heart breaking on the most lonesome cart path. Lee, who has played in eight tournaments in the last nine weeks, is tired of coming back to an empty room at the end of the day.
I want to hug Lee. I can't be his girlfriend, but I can show up at his door with cigars, a sixer and, like, an Xbox or something. No man should have to celebrate the greatest moment of his professional career by watching Air Force One alone in his room at the Holiday Inn Express.
The good news is Lee isn't letting his lack of a girlfriend keep him down.
"I never get tired of playing golf," Lee told ESPN.com. "I mean, it's my job, and I just love doing it, and I'm just happy to be out here every week. ... All I can say is wow. I finally did it."
In unrelated-but-related news, Tiger Woods also played in The Greenbrier Classic and shot a three-under 67 on Sunday.
I'm not saying...but I'm just saying: Help a dude out, Tiger.
