Not really sure why the SEC would schedule this game with a crumbling conference.

I said in the original realignment thread that it was absurd that the B12 was getting picked clean. They had 3 legitimately historic football powerhouses and a bunch of very good supporting schools at varying degrees of ascendance. They also had a great geographic location that should allow them to draw from any quadrant of the country.

Instead, they essentially took every advantage they had and somehow made a disadvantage of it. They lost Nebraska because they treated them like a stepdaughter and let the remaining power teams in OU and UT start to kick the rest of the league in the dick even harder. Suddenly their geography is turned against them because they're adjacent to nearly every major conference. Then the fact that they have strong secondary schools like A&M, Mizzou, and Okie Lite getting partial cuts of the revenue was turned on them as well and their response was "eh...**** 'em".

They pulled out the biggest gun they had, pointed the stock at the rest of the conferences, and immediately shot themselves in the chest.

As a staggering conference that damn near imploded, they still had enough advantages to get their feet back under them and get things moving again once they didn't have a complete moron in charge.

Mizzou still moved to the nicest neighborhood in town, but the B12 did a hell of a job of getting out of their own way and finally capitalizing on all the good things they had going for them, as opposed to pissing it all down their legs.

Funny how so many of us have such completely opposite views on the past two years. haha

This bowl game is effing awesome. Very smart by SEC and Big 12 to do this. If only they would get this smart in basketball and say EF U to the tournament.

I am going on record.

This sets the stage for a playoff with 8 teams. There will be four auto bids, the champions of the B1G, SEC, PAC, and Big XII with four at larges. At least one will have to come from outside those conferences (to get around the antitrust threats).

This is a conference that was literally one yes or no vote from dissolving under Dan Beebe a year ago and now it appears well on its way to being the 2nd strongest conference in the country.

With every passing day, I can only be more and more astounded by just how awful a job Dan Beebe did with his stewardship of that conference.
Child please.

Keitzman and Stan Weber say MU would probably want to come back to the Big 12 w/ KU, KSU, etc after this is all said and done.

Serious question. Would MU fans want this?

Obviously the "road to the playoff" would be a lot easier going through a Big 12 North situation (including Oklahoma) then say battling the existing SEC teams.

I understand the sexiness of playing the SEC teams every week but wouldn't a shot at absolute glory be even better? And holding on to regional rivalries most notably KU?

No. Why would we? Keep building the program, and plow ahead.

And it's been well established that Keitzman is a flaming moron with no basis in what his opinions are, especially where Mizzou is concerned.

Any guesses on who is for it and who is against it?
