I really did. But Robinson Cano, Chien-Ming Wang, and Melky Cabrera all look like they're for real. I never even heard of this kid, Cabrera, but he looks like a future star. A 20-year old switch hitting center fielder with the plate presence of a veteran.

The future doesn't look so dim after all.

Cabrera has been there for like 4 games.

You must be a Yankme fan. 4 average/decent players doesn't make your farm system anything to write home about.

True. But I've been a baseball fan for over three decades. I commented on his plate presence which is something that is definately noticable.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Have you seen him play yet? In your mind, how many games would he have to play to convince you that he has the skills to be a good player.

How 'bout Cano and Wang. Do they look like players to you, or not?

Speaking of plate presence, Ordonez has been crazy good at fending off pitchers since returning from the dl as far as I have seen. Like 10 pitches an AB crazy good.

My whole family are Yank fans, I've seen him play.

He has to perform for at least half a season before I can honestly give an honest answer about how good of a player he could be in the major leagues.

Players have hot/cold streaks all the time. 5 games is about as small of a sample size as you can get.

Look at Marlon Byrd for the Phils, he was up 2 years ago and everyone was raving about him being the CF of the future and potentially one of the best in the game.

2 years later the Phils are trading him for Endy Chavez, a utility man from the Nationals.

Cano and Wang are decent players, but I will still need to see how they hold up to call them great prospects.

And I will have to see in 5 years how they can perform when they are the top players on the team. It's nice having A-Rod, Jeter, Sheff and Matsui to bat behind.
