Powerball is $600 Million. If you win, do you still post on Chiefsplanet?

Wondering is you had more money than you spend, would you still post, visit the Planet?

The guy who started Dropbox may be worth $100 million+ and he still visits once a year or so.

Would you?

The take-home would really only be about $200 million if that makes a difference.

So the gross cash will be about $377 million. You take out taxes and you're probably around $203 million.

I have a deal with a friend where we split any big winnings, so my take-home would be around $101.5 million. I then have a deal with karma where I would give one-third of it away, so my breakdown would be:

$67 million for me.
$17 million for my wife to give away however she seems fit.
I give away $17 million as follows:
$7-$10 million to family and friends
$500k-$1 million to an animal-related charity
The remainder would go into a scholarship fund for my high school. The scholarship would be for first-generation college students, and I would award one scholarship per year. It would be structured something along the lines of this:
$8,000 in freshman year
$16,000 in sophomore year (assuming they make grades)
$24,000 in junior year (assuming they make grades)
$24,000 in senior year (again, grades)
$15,000 upon graduation to take a trip anywhere they want, and it would be a surprise.

Now, my $67 million is more than I need, so I don't need to live just off the interest. So I would take out about $1 million per year for living expenses, which would end up being $46,000 per month after taxes. That's more than enough to live permanently on a cruise ship and travel around.

Here's the process.

1. Drive to the Quick Trip.
2. Look to see if they have a Powerball sign on the front.
3. Go in the store, holding it open for the pregnant woman who is entering to buy cigarettes.
4. Pretend to shop in the candy aisle while trying to figure out what country the counter guy is from.
5. Check out the soft drinks. Ponder the amount of calories in the energy drinks.
6. Look at the doughnuts. Break down and get one.
7. Go to the counter.
8. Wait behind the pregnant woman buying cigarettes, the UPS guy buying the day-old hot dog, the housewife in curlers cashing in her $2 scratch lottery winner, and the kid buying a pack of Nerds in pennies.
9. Tell the Kashmiri counter guy that you would like one powerball ticket with no powerplay. (Powerplay is for suckers.) You may buy more than one ticket, and you may pick your own numbers using one of the handy forms, but most people just ask for a ticket. The Kashmiri guy understands the implication that you are purchasing "Quick Picks", which are computer-generated random numbers.
10. Pay the Kashmiri man two dollars per ticket purchased.
11. Return to your car, dream about how your life would change if you won.

I'd probably post about the same amount.

I'm accustomed to my current lifestyle and honestly wouldn't need most of the money for myself. I'd probably go through the list of family members that have helped me along the way and pay off all of their bills and make all the necessary improvements to their current homes to improve their quality of life.

From there, I'd put the necessary amount in an interest bearing account for all of my families children to have their educations paid for and houses purchased for after college.

From there, I would go back and find the dozen or so teachers that were influential in my life and do the same for them as I did for my family.

Next, I'd carefully select my closest 20 friends through my life and do the same thing as my family members.

Then, I'd make a donation to all the schools I attended to improve them and offer more after school activities and start some community projects to better the areas around the schools.

Next, I would look to purchase some key Star Wars movie props because I'm a nerd like that.

From there, I'd probably want to invest the rest into something that would change the world for the better in one way or another.

Yeah I paid my money to the idiot tax of America. $2+ investment for hundreds of millions of dollars? Yeah, you'd be pretty dumb to not at least try.

I'd put my parents into early retirement, my Dad is 63 and still works a job as a maintenance man and within the last 5 years went through Chemo, became cancer free, but took away his 401k. He needs it.

I'd give my fiancee the wedding and honeymoon of her dreams, and the life of her dreams as well. I figured if she loved me when I had no money, she's worth keeping around when I do.

I'd pay off so many people's debt. School loans, car payments, house payments, friends and family members alike. Debt is the enemy in the economy nowadays, if you can get people back to even ground, and give them a little bit of money on the side as well, it'd be a great gesture.

Obviously donate a good chunk to charities that have to do with saving lives. March of Dimes, World Wildlife Fund, Adoption Programs, Animal Shelters, I'd probably donate $20 million over my lifetime to these causes, at least.

Everyone has the dream, of what they'd do with the money. If I could make life easier for me, my family, my kids, my friends, I would feel like I accomplished my ultimate life's goal.
