Martinsville Speedway

Overview
Both pedals get a workout at Martinsville Speedway, as the 0.526-mile track's unique shape (think paper clip) gives drivers two straightaways and two very tight corners where brakes get tested more than anywhere else on the circuit.

April 2012 Race Winner: #39-Ryan Newman, 78.823mph, started 5th

October 2012 race Winner: #48-Jimmie Johnson, 77.677mph, started 1st

Most Wins - Active Driver: 7 - Jeff Gordon & Jimmie Johnson

Most Wins - All Time: Richard Petty, 15

Most Poles - Active Driver: Jeff Gordon, 7

Most Poles - All Time: Darrell Waltrip, 8

Most Cautions: 19 - 10/23/2005

Most Caution Laps: 125, 10/24/2004

Most Wins by Manufacturer: 50 - Chevy; 26 - Ford; 10 - Dodge; 5 - Toyota; 40 - Others

Most Lead Changes: 31 - 4/3/2011

Races won from the top 5: 68 of 128

Races won from the top 10: 93 of 128

20 of 128 races at Martinsville have been won from the pole.

Surprised that the odds on Jr weren't even lower. Almost every time I have looked at odds in the last few years, he's in the top 5.

Seems like there are quite a few different sponsors/schemes than normal. I didn't recall Richmond being one that varied as much in the past.
