Android location service issue

The past few days, the location icon has been on my status bar even though I have location turned off. I haven't installed any apps the last few weeks or so, so it can't be an app turning it on. I can't find any answers on the interweb about it either. Any help?

You can go to Settings\Location, and scroll down to the bottom and see the most recent apps that have used Location services.

That's the second screenshot. Right now it shows my weather app which I've had almost since I got my phone 2 yrs ago and it's never made that icon pop up.

Honestly, I'm not sure. Mine does that all the ****ing time. But my battery life isn't really affected by it at all that I can notice. I assumed it was my weather app. You can always turn down the Location accuracy setting. That's a global setting.

Check your Wi-Fi settings, sometimes it kicks in through that.

Your wife installed some sort of monitoring software on your phone to see who you have been ****ing on the side. Immediately throw the phone in the toilet and flush it.

Happened after the update. A lot of people have the same issue now. And battery life got zapped by a lot with this update.

Before I could play a game while plugged in and be fine with it charging on the older cable. After update it goes dead in about 2 hours.

I've been on Android 5 on my Galaxy S5 for quite a while now. Battery life has never been better to be honest. I think Lollipop is incredible. The only complaint I have is the goofy colors. But Lollipop OS is solid and I get great battery life.

Do you run any kind of permission program like Advanced Permission(This app is just ****ing incredible. It allows you to re-install any app according to whatever permissions you choose. Removing access for apps to whatever.)

Do you use apps like Titanium Backup to freeze apps? There's a known list of unnecessary apps for every phone model, and you can completely freeze them easily.

Do you have email on PUSH schedule for email? Try changing it to like 5 minutes instead of push.

Have you turned off unnecessary running apps, according to whatever your phone is?

Like I said, Lollipop has been awesome for me. Battery life has never been better..

None of that. I'm a simpleton. Just call, text and music (both streaming and loaded).

I was under the understanding that my issue is common. Might just be the phone though. Love the OS though. Took me a while to figure out why my shit turned orange though.

EDIT: I said 'though' a lot there. Bad form.

Let's just say that this is no longer an issue now.

At about 11:30 last night my phone just shut off and won't turn on or charge. So looks like Im making the jump to the G3 or G4 a little sooner than expected.
