He has fallen off hard this year. With Kawhi stepping up this year, he is kind of expendable.

Almost completely agree. I kinda don't dislike him much anymore after these past two seasons. There almost seems to be no way he should still be playing at this level and his competitive drive is pretty great.

Kawhi is the better player these days, but I'll take Steve Jack on my team in the playoffs. Great defense and hits the big shots when you need him to. He was one of the reasons I liked rooting for the Spurs (although there are many).

Marc Stein is an idiot! it wasnt the last 5 games. It was the whole season kobe averaging 40 plus minutes in his 17th season. D'Antoni knew the only shot he had to make the play offs was to run his ferrari as hard as he possibly could and hope the engine wouldnt blow. D'Antoni knows if he dont make the play offs he's as good as gone.

Now he has to worry about DEATH threats, they are going to be coming. lol Kobe is so ****ing loved in L.A its insane.

Time to let Nash be Nash if you're the Lakers. You might be surprised at what the team can do with that kind of pick-and-roll offense. Don't think they're getting past the Spurs or anything even if they make it, but it would make for some entertaining ball there.

Shit just happens sometimes. It's not on D'Antoni, the trainers, or the coaching staff. That's a move Kobe has made cleanly thousands of times before. Heck, Jose Reyes destroyed his ankle tonight on a fluke slide...no point in trying to pin this stuff on anything.

The minutes he put in this year didnt help. in this game he tweaked his knee and had something wrong with the other knee before the achillies went! what happens when you compensate for something in your legs? other parts start giving out.

The Lakers trainer was telling Mike to pull Kobe out of the game and he didnt.

The minutes he's put in for the entire 17 years of his career probably didn't help either. It's not like anybody in the league is going to keep Kobe on the bench in such a situation. Kobe makes the decisions for himself, he always has.
