Grade my team

I think we have had a thread for this in the past.. so feel free to post your own team below.

I just drafted last night in my 14-team, 1/2 ppr league. Return yards count for the individual and the flex position also can be a QB. Our league used to have six points for passing td's, but returned it to four points a couple years ago. Despite that, QBs go off the board way to soon. In fact, eleven were taken in the first round and five in the second round.

My strategy was to wait on QB and load up on other positions, as I picked seventh.

Team is below. The number in parenthesis is my ranking of these players within their positional groups (didn't combine them into one board), just for general interest.

1 - Jamaal Charles - KC RB (1)
2 - Antonio Brown - Pit WR (1)
3 - Teddy Bridgewater - Min QB (18)
4 - C.J. Spiller - NO RB (8) - due to return yards
5 - Latavius Murray - Oak RB (14)
6 - DaVante Adams - GB WR (10)
7 - Blake Bortles - Jax QB (23)
8 - Darren Sproles - Phi RB (25) - I think he will get return yards in the regular season
9 - Percy Harvin - Buf WR (17) - due to return yards
10 - Denard Robinson - Jax RB (40)
11 - Leonard Hankerson - Atl WR (42)
12 - Brian Quick - StL WR (44)
13 - Charles Clay - Buf TE (10)
14 - Chiefs D (14)
15 - Brandon McManus - Den K (2)

I think I regret the Percy Harvin pick already. Beckham was taken two picks before I took Bridgewater, and I think I paniced on QB a bit, although I do like Teddy.

If I had know Bortles would drop into the 7th, I think I would have taken another top-tier WR, but most were scooped up, and I wasn't feeling Demaryius Thomas.

Yeah,it's the reason I always get frustrated when some fantasy guru says you have to do this and this to be successful in FF.Uh,no,I know my league rules inside and out, hell it's a $170 entry I damn well better, and therefore I try and draft accordingly.

I always try and not be "that guy" when looking at others teams unless of course you spell out each and every rule in your league. It's why I apologized for not telling you everything,it definitely made a difference once you knew all the rules.

I'm thinking about trading Wallace for Eli Manning.

Makes sense.. if you can pull that off.. probably need a backup QB, since they are valued a bit more in that scoring.

Looks pretty good. Interesting scoring / flexibility on the positions.

I like your top RB's and WR's.

Landry would be better at PPR, so I'm not as crazy about your WR3. Likewise, I'm not sold on Randle, Sankey, or Cobb.. they all seem to be mediocre and in the middle of a large RBBC.

Surprised you ended up with a TE even, given your scoring.. and a top one really.

Just out of curiosity, where did you have to take the Seattle defense?

David Cobb went on IR, so he will need to be replaced

I got Kelce in the 10th round, I had to grab him.

Seattle D I got in the 8th round. Could have been 9th since I had back to back picks.

I really like different points scoring for the same reason, and having primarily played in one league for the past six years, I additionally know how our league goes. It is one reason that mock drafts are fairly useless for me. No mock draft has 16-18 QBs coming off in the first 28 picks, but that is consistently how our league operates, since we can start 2QBs and just.. because..

All those guides are interesting, but I generally pay no attention to ADP.. just my own rankings.

I know people like to get input on their teams though, so I try to "grade" the teams here for them. I try to caveat with 'in my opinion' as much as possible.

Yeah, good value for Kelce in the 10th.

Yeah, I'll probably just drop Delanie Walker and pick up whichever defenses play shitty teams like the Jags or Titans for weeks 2 and 3.

If our defense ends up being a disappointment by week 6 or so I'll probably just drop them altogether and adopt that method until the end of the season.

The best defenses on NFL.com fantasy leagues average under 11 points per game. Average defenses will give you 8. It wasn't worth it to burn a high round pick on a 3 point difference, IMO.

Agreed.. my defense was either the last or second to last pick in my draft. So, what I have penciled in (assuming no one grabs them) is to use:

1) KC week 1
2) New Orleans week 2 - against Tampa Bay (drop KC, pickup NO)
3) Denver week 3 through 6 - (drop NO, pickup Denver) against Detroit, Minnesota, Oakland, Cleveland
4) Return to KC after that or before week 6 if we are looking pretty good

I think week 2 & 3 will be rough weeks to own our defense.

Gotta hope no one picks up those defenses though.. I'm not going to burn a second roster spot on a 'next-week' defense.

Seems as good a plan as any.

I don't have to worry about that final roster spot with Delanie Walker being pretty expendable so maybe I will hold on to our D if they look good week 1.

Only time will tell...

10 team league, standard scoring, 4 pts for passing TDs. Drafted in #1 spot. 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2WRs, 1Flex, 1TE,Def,K . My team:

QB-Brady
RBs-Peterson, Demarco Murray, Latavius Murray, Foster, Doug Martin, Knile Davis
WR-A.J., Keenan Allen, Golden Tate, Fitzgerald, Crabtree,
TE-Delanie Walker
Defense-KC
K-Haushka

RBs seem to dominate in this scoring so I tried to grab as many STARTERS as possible with the possibility of running out 3 studs every week. I waited on QB and landed Brady in the 10th. TEs kept going before I could grab one, and too early by my projections. So I waited and took Walker with last pick before Def, and K. NFL.com gave me an A. I was pretty happy with my draft. Most teams other than me barely have 2 starting RBs so I plan on trading to strengthen my weak spots once injuries occur or underproduction occurs. Barring injuries I could be running out AP, Demarco, and Foster and I like my chances with that.
