Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Yeah well, I recently watched the new Alice in Wonderland. While I haven't read the book for decades I was slightly disappointed in the twist the movie had on it, except for Mallyumkn the Dormouse. She was one of my favorite characters in the movie. Other than that I thought it was a great movie. Typical Tim Burton.

Reaper was disagreeing with this sentiment, Sherlock.

When you say the twist, are you talking about the fact that it's supposed to be after her first trip down the rabbit hole?

My fiancee' and I bought She's Out of My League, we saw it in theaters and loved it. We've watched it twice since we bought it. Funny ass movie.

We saw Grown Ups in theaters too, funny as well. It was better than I thought it would be.

Not much of a twist really considering they kind of give that away in the previews. "Alice, you're back?"

Bad Lieutenant is a fucked up movie. You feel like an insane functioning drug addict along w/ him. I hated it and loved it at the same time.

Are you referring to the 1993 original or the 2009 spiritual sequel, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans?

All this talk of Alice returning to Wonderland being "a twist" is pissing me off. Do you unread heathens not know that Lewis Carrol wrote a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland titled Through the Looking-Glass?

I still need to see Port of Call New Orleans. Anything Herzog is usually worth a watch and I have read Cage actually tries.

What you've heard is true (and it is always nice when Cage tries. He's very good here in an eccentric role). I've seen the film twice. It's pretty hilarious in a dark way.
