Ray Rice over Chris Johnson? Crazy talk?

I've got the No. 3 pick in a big money draft tonight...almost 100% sure Foster and Peterson go 1 and 2...3rd spot I'm in a bit of a pickle. CJ seems like the obvious choice but I'm worried about his holdout and workload over the last couple years, combined with Titans having no passing game to speak of.

Would it be completely insane to take Ray Rice over him?

Out of curiosity, do you think Ray Rice could have a bigger year than Peterson? I just realized I may pick 2nd instead. It's a coin flip between me and another guy. I'm assuming Foster goes 1.

I don't like Adrian Peterson this year....but that's my opinion. McNabb is ****ing done and people are going to be stacking the box against the Vikings. Ray Rice has a better offensive line, a better QB and a better group of WRs.

This Chris Johnson thing is probably going to linger into the season, so I would not take him at all in the 1st round and would even have to consider passing him in the 2nd round, though im sure someone will grab him in the 1st.

I love having the 3rd pick in one of my leagues. I get possibly the best fantasy player (it's a toss up between Foster and Rice, IMO) and I get a chance to grab a great WR on the turnaround in the 2nd.

I would honestly choose Rice #1 regardless of format. He's in a good, run-first offense with a great run-blocking offensive line, but Flacco has a good enough arm that defenses won't be able to constantly stack the box. He just got the best run-blocking FB in the entire NFL. The Ravens have a great defense so theoretically they won't be throwing the ball to catch up very often. He is also a plus pass catcher.

The biggest thing about Rice, however, is McGahee is gone. Ricky Williams is absolutely no threat to steal goal line carries (or any carries at all, really). The Ravens coaching staff flat out said that they will not take Rice out of the game unless he specifically asks.

I haven't done the math, but I'm sure if you add up all production from Ravens RBs since Rice entered the league you would find the best overall RB in fantasy. This is his year to break out.

I've also seen Blount going in the 2nd round.

People just don't give a shit on the mock drafts.

You could justify Rice going Top 3.

You absolutely, under no circumstances, could justify Blount going in R2.

The Ravens will be much, much better offensively than the Titans will. That said, I expect CJ to hit the ground running.

I like Blount this year. I could see somebody justifying him early round 3 definitely.

He ran for 1,007 yds and scored 6 TDs last year... but he didn't get double digit carries until week 7. And he was a rookie. And he didn't get signed to TB until late in the preseason last year if memory serves correct. And he has no legit threat to steal carries. And he's been catching more balls in the preseason. And his QB has a hell of an arm.

Blount has plenty of upside.

His ADP is currently 3.02 in 12 team leagues, so he isn't far out of R2.
I'm NOT saying I would take him there, but apparently a lot of folks do.

For some reason Blount looked slow in our preseason opener
