Dwayne Bowe. Diva or Top 10 Wr?

That was one of the hot topics on 810 this week. What say you? I think the guy is a legit top 5 WR in the NFL. Look at his numbers the last couple of years. When he gets the ball in space, he is almost impossible to tackle. Especially, one on one. Look at his numbers the last 15 months and he is no doubt in the conversation as best in the league. Just imagine if he had a qb that could consistently get him the ball or if we didn't wait til we were down 14 in the second quarter to get him involved. Think his jersey is my next Chiefs purchase.

No shit. That's another area where Haley deserves a ton of credit. Not only will his players run through a brick wall for him, but somehow he has kept the lockerroom from unfolding on it's weakest link, the QB.

The top 3 are definitely the following:

1. Calvin Johnson
2. Andre Johnson
3. Larry Fitzgerald

After that you have a bunch of guys like Mike Wallace, Roddy White, Greg Jennings, Reggie Wayne (meh) Wes Welker (meh) and Dwayne Bowe. I think I might take Bowe out of all of those guys simply because his skills and talent are better than all of them, and we have yet to see what Bowe can REALLY do with a great QB.

I think I'd put Bowe at #4 with Roddy or Mike Wallace as the 5.

Good list. I'd add Steve Smith and Desean Jackson.

Depends if the NBA labor issue is settled soon. Bowe won't even see the field once all the WR talent locked up in the NBA hits the NFL. Or so I'm told.

To me Wes Welker isn't anywhere near this list if he doesn't have an elite QB throwing to him. Don't get me wrong, he should be on here in his situation. You look at Bowe and what QBs have been throwing to him. Switch him and Welker. People wouldn't even be talking about Welker.

All these QBS except for 2 have had solid to elite QBs throwing to them. Larry and Bowe. Calvin too up until this year.

I admit I haven't been a huge Bowe fan because of his tendancy to drop the damn ball, but he looks much better this season than last. I think he's working his way up into that upper echelon of guys so long as he stays focused. Right now, with the way he's playing, I'd say he's performing like a top 10 receiver. "Diva?" I don't really think so. When I think "diva," I think of assholes like Chad Whatsmynametoday and TO. Hell, a young Cris Carter or young Randy Moss even fit. I think Bowe has grown from his youthful mistakes of opening his mouth about the wrong things, but I still wouldn't use that against him in a case of being a "diva."

Bowe and Calvin came into the league at the same time.

Since then Bowe has 64 games and Johnson 65.

Stats on a per game basis -

4.6 catches per game - Bowe

4.6 catches per game - Johnson

65 yards per game - Bowe

71 yards per game - Johnson

0.5 TD per game - Bowe

0.6 TD per game - Johnson

So 6 yards per game on average over the course of 5 seasons, which is a big enough sample size, makes Johnson arguably the best WR in the league, but Bowe isn't top 5.

Makes ****ing sense. :rollseyes
