Mark Schlereth can suck my baows
Digg it del.icio.us AIM JEFFREY FLANAGAN TOP OF THE MORNIN’
TOP OF THE MORNIN’ ESPN analyst thinks Chiefs’ offense will hold them back Schlereth M ark Schlereth, an NFL analyst for ESPN, sees one major roadblock for anyone dreaming of a big run by the Chiefs this fall: offense. “For so many years, the Chiefs have been a dominant running team,” said Schlereth, who was in Kansas City to call the Brigade’s playoff game Saturday on ESPN. “But you look at what’s happened to the offensive line. They lost Willie Roaf the year before. Now, they’ve lost Will Shields. They’ve lost Jordan Black, who wasn’t a great tackle, but he was the best they had. “And the best thing they have going right now, Larry Johnson, just had over 400 carries last year. That type of pounding worries me. I picked up one fumble in my career and tried to run with it and it felt like I got hit by 17 guys. That’s the last time I went to pick up a fumble. I can’t imagine running over 400 times.” Schlereth, a former offensive lineman with Washington and Denver, sees other issues with the Chiefs’ offense as well. “Damon (Huard) played great last year for a stretch,” Schlereth said. “But Tony Romo was great for five or six games and then the defensive coaches start taking away the things he did well. “There’s a reason Damon has been a backup in this league for 10 years.” Schlereth sees an overall lack of weaponry on the Chiefs’ offense. “In the passing game, obviously they’ve got Tony Gonzalez,” he said. “But I don’t see the weapons elsewhere. Samie Parker and Eddie Kennison, I don’t mean any disrespect, but they’re just guys. They’re guys on somebody’s roster.” The Chargers are still the team to beat in the West. “After them, the Chiefs and Denver will be fighting it out to be 9-7 or 8-8 and maybe a playoff spot,” he said. “Roc” Schlereth Schlereth also has a recurring role on the soap opera “Guiding Light.” Schlereth plays a detective named “Roc Hoover.” So far, Schlereth said he hasn’t found many women throwing themselves at him because of his acting career. “Part of that’s because they already throw themselves at me because I’m on ESPN,” he joked. LJ for ESPY Though I’ve never quite been sure the value of an ESPY, Chiefs stud Larry Johnson is up for one as the “Best NFL Player.” LJ was nominated along with Drew Brees (Saints), Peyton Manning (Colts), Jason Taylor (Dolphins), LaDainian Tomlinson (Chargers) and Brian Urlacher (Bears). Fans can vote at www.espn.go.com. Mason’s next step Former Kansas and Minnesota Gophers football coach Glen Mason apparently is being considered for a game-analyst position with the Big Ten Network. |

I find it funny how almost everyone on here bitches about the offense and says just about the same thing as Schlereth does here....but yet he "sucks balls" hahaha

Pretty honest article. You guys hate anyone who says anything bad about Chiefs. Can't handle the truth that the Chiefs will be a 7-8 win team at best.

As bad as he can be as an analyst, his "acting" is twice as bad...jocks who try acting are inevitably horrible...stiff, camera-conscious...just horrible.
The exceptions are very few. |

personally i like schelereth better than most nfl analysts because he doesnt seem to be the type of guy that only pays attention to the popular teams(Patriots, Colts, Chargers, Broncos, Raiders and so forth) In everything hes saying there about our offense, he is nearly spot on.

Schlereth is NOT one of my favorites, while he has some valid points about the CHIEFS offense, he ALWAYS finds a way to bash them. The loss of Black is NO big del, MacIntosh is an upgrade of Black. How was Black our best, best tackle, best lineman? Obviously not the best lineman we had, MAYBE our 4th best, and that was only because he could stay healthy. I mean he wasn't even good enough to beat out a TE weighted Turley at the beginning of the season. As far as Huard goes, he may have been a backup for years, however the guy in front of him all those years were no slouch, with names like Marino, Brady and Green un his prime. How many QB's would have started over those guys? Not many, so why I give credit to Schlereth for pointing out the OBVIOUS to everyone, I downgrade him for not knowing be very well informed on the CHIEFS. As far as next season goes, The mighty chargers were being looked at skeptically for the same reasons last year, no experience at QB, quesitons along the Offensive line, no big name receivers, yet when they spoke about them last year the reply was, well when you got LT and Gates you can still do some damage. I guess LJ and Gonzo don't count this year. GO CHIEFS!!

Who the hell is dreaming of a big run? Just another uninformed. No mention of Croyle. No mention of the our youth movement. You'd think these turds would read up a little before writing this mess...

Psst, I think he was saying we will get 7 or 8 wins. Not finish with a 7-8 record. |

This offense is going to be a liability. I dont see how anyone here can argue with that.
