Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623

That is an insanely reeruned deal. Wow.
Wow! I e heard nothing but good about them may have to buy this and hold off on a build. Is .223 getting any easier to find around in kc? It's really hit and miss here.

I've had to order almost all my .223 online. You can find it in stores sometimes, but usually at a pretty steep markup.

We've got one store about a mile from my house that's hit and miss with off brand ammo. My high school OC is the manager now he'll let me know when they get stuff but it's still far and few between.

OK in light of another thread here's a question for the group. So I've got multiple builds in progress to the point where I have a large amount of parts for builds in progress. Right now I've mostly just got things separated in boxes with different guntypes per box. But I'd like something a little cleaner/better organized.

Anyone have good gun part storage? I'd need a quite a bit of storage. Maybe a big tool cabinet? Or is there something better available?

Are we talking rifles, pistols or both?

Kinda partial to the old Wingmaster 870 Magnums that will shoot 3 inch shells, but not the 3 1/2 inch ones. Any goose hunters in here?

Mostly rifle parts, although there is some 1911 stuff. Barrels, stocks etc which makes finding a clean parts storage system a bit more of a pita.

I just picked up the nicest wing master you've ever seen for 220 at the local pawn shop three weeks ago. Bought it just to do a European pheasant hunt. Was going to sell it but shit! This thing comes up and around as well as my grandpas franchie over and under. I think I'm gonna keep it just for skeet and the once or twice a year I can get on pheasant and qual in Kansas. As far as big mag shotguns go I bought my first for turkey gun, it's the moss erg 935 I busted two goose with it(first time I've been) its not balanced like the 870 at all but with a little practice it's deadly and will accept 4" (they kick like a mofo!). Bang for the buck the 935 is great. But I don't know I'd buy it just as a goose gun. My buddy just bought the benelli super nova for duck geese. Haven't heard how it did yet.

What ever you get? Make sure it can handle a 3 inch mag & has screw in chokes, get yourself chokes rated for steel shot. Dnt let the feds catch you shooting at waterfowl with led shot. BIG TICKET!
Remington quality is not what it once was
IMO Mossberg 500 or 835 are better bangs for your buck.
I dnt waist my time with 3-1/2 inch shells unless their is some super great buy
Not a big fan of semiautomatic's for Goose hunting either, they tend to fail when its real cold out.

Palmetto's deals are usually a one day sale.

Check their site every day. They do crazy deals like 10 stripped lowers for 500 free shipping or complete uppers with bcg for 300.
