You don't solely practice against the practice squad in preparation for real games. I remember back before that 56-10 beating we put on the Falcons, we put Dante Hall at QB to try and simulate playing against Mike Vick.

The practice squad comparison was just a big armed gun slinger and our version in the new 6'3" kid "regatron". I think your looking far to deep into this.

Funny thing that. Under the CBA, there is very limited contact allowed with the coaches on strictly prescribed situations. Makes it very hard go really develop the players.

Players better get good coaching in the off season. We are used to WRs getting specialized training in offseason. This is a smart way for motivated players to get around limitations on team contact.

I wonder if we will see teams paying these kinds of training opportunities.

Contract incentives for rookies and "high potential" guys to go and develop with a specialist during the off-season.

Its doubtful that any NFL team let alone the Chiefs have the specialty expertise to do all of the things this clinic is set up to do for 1 specific position group.

This guy wouldn't have job as a specialist if most teams could simply fill that role with an OL coach.

As someone else mentioned, CBA prevents a lot of this stuff anyway.
