Coaching Flush

It appears to me that we need to flush the current coaching staff...This ultra conservative offensive stuff will not get a team over the top in the day and age of 4 wide high powered offenses like the Rams and Colts...For that reason is why I think it is a joke that everyone thinks Tenn and TB will win the SB...When you play with that type of offense, you can not make any mistakes against those high powered offense or you are beat...It is all but impossible to win the 4 games in a row against good teams in the playoffs without having one game where the turnovers don't go against you...Look at the TITan, they had to have every conceivable break go there way or else they were 1st round victims...That style will win 2 out of every 3 games or maybe even 3 out of 4, get you in the playoffs with a good seed and get you knocked out early. It is a good formula for job security but a bad formula for those who want to be SB champs.

I will say this... Gunther is a hell of a defensive coordinator but he seems overwhelmed by the overall responsibilities of a Head Coach....

Someone from the college ranks might be appropriate as a replacment... Bob Pruitt (Marshall) or June Jones (Hawaii) have good offensive minds and are excellent motivators....

While I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiment, it is way too early to start looking for replacement coaches. Let's get a few games under our belts first.

June Jones led Hawaii from an 0-12 season to a bowl victory in one year...Coach of the year last year.... SD was begging him to come back after he took them over on an interim one year basis... he is widely regarded by his peers as a great offensive mind and has had NFL coaches leave their positions to join/learn from him.... He is Mouse Davis's #1 protoge...

Atlanta went nowhere because Jeff George was a little b*tch ... at least JJ had the stones to bench his *** when he got out of line...

True, nothing would be gained by making a mid-season coaching change...Peterson should have been knocked up side the head for going with an even more conservative "Marty Clone"...Nobody played that style better than Marty did and he proved over and over that despite having some damn good teams you just can't make it all the way through to the SB with that style...We were the Titan and TB before that style came into vogue over the past couple of years.

there are a lot of great college coaches who couldnt cut it in the nfl....ie gene stallings.......

the fact is jones failed miserably in the nfl and knew it himself .......how else do you explain him going to hawaii when the SD job was in his lap???

Cause he is Hawaii alum...And any coach in there right mind would rather coach D1 over the NFL...Much better job security and a much easier, relaxed lifestyle in comparison to the NFL...

and Texas ducked out of last weeks game because Jones is no good.

Makes me happy, I'd like him to stay... and Lord knows I'd never want KC to ever develop a modern day offense... you think Bum Phillips is available?

There are plenty of top-flight division 1 football coaches who have told the NFL to go take a flying leap. Who would you rather work with, overpaid whiners or kids who are playing because they love to play?
