I was fighting for 1st place in a martial arts tournament in the black belt division in Helena, MT. The fight was to move onto nationals. This was full contact, which I love and I had never fought this guy. The place where we were fighting evidently forgot to pay their heating bill. It was the middle of winter and it was damn cold in there, you were close to seeing your breath.
In any event, we were going at it hard, when I saw a spinning hook kick come in. I went to block it and counter and slipped. My guard dropped and I caught it full force on the nose. My nose got busted, which was not a big deal, but the ref stopped the fight for the doc to take a look. I told the guy I was fine, but my instructor wanted to stop the fight. I told him there was no way in hell, I was going to let him do that. I went back in and won the fight and went onto nationals. |

My football team was playing in our division rival's stadium; the winner was to move on and the loser was to go home.
Down 10-7 late in the 4th quarter our stud QB tossed a 43 yard strike on 3rd down to put us at the 1 yard line and our big-time RB took it in from there. Our D got stiff the rest of the way and, even though they had home crowd advantage, our opponent was hapless and scoreless the rest of the game. The closest they came was a 4th-and-2 pass to their TE that our DB knocked down. It was great. Their fans still cry about that play to this day. Their tears are like honey.

One time, I showed up at halftime and the muddogs won the Bourbon Bowl, and then I had sex with a girl named Vicki on my lawn mower.

Playing youth baseball 30 years ago. We played an important game against our biggest rival, and I hit the one and only home run I ever hit in organized baseball. There was a tiny story about it in the old Jackson County Advocate weekly newspaper and it mentioned my name.

Basketball tournament in 8th grade. The score is going back and forth then in the fourth qtr the other team has the ball and is trying to eat up time, however one of the guards gets a steal and I haul ass down the court w/ some defenders waiting for me. My guard drives down the court see's me filling the lane and passes it to me I lay it up and goes in. I run over to the stands and give my dad a hug. Game goes to OT and we win and I finish the game w/ 18 points and 12 Rebounds.

I was a 3rd string QB for my team and had just moved there so I was unfamiliar with the playbook. I was sitting on the bench, not really paying attention when the long-time starter got hit in the back.
The 2nd string guy went in and was really ineffective, then he got his knee rolled onto. Next thing I know, Boom! I'm in. My coach was an old grizzly Italian dude but he knew his stuff. I went out there and basically just handed the ball off to our all-star RB for a while. Then we decided to play action. Hell, I passed for 2 TD's and 185 yards. The next week, I was the starter. I had a few bad moments here and there but all in all, I played really well. I'm a scrambler, type of QB so I could beat you either way. We made the playoffs and in the 1st round, I scored the winning TD on a QB sneak with 00:03 on the clock! We lost in the 2nd round, unfortunately. Afterwards, Coach D quit and signed on with a new expansion team in Albuquerque. He signed me as their new QB. Go Aztecs! Posted via Mobile Device |

My personal best moment was in Junior Midgets football. I was on the punt team and we punted down to the other team. I hustled down the field and blasted the punt returner right after he caught the ball. He fumbled it into the endzone where I landed on it for a Touchdown. My one and only touchdown ever.
The best team moment was when we were playing our closest rivals in high school. We lost to them the year before by 3 points in their stadium. We were playing this game in their stadium again. We went up 7-0, then 7-7. Then we went up 14-7, then it was 14-14. This same pattern, 21-14, 21-21. Then we took the lead with about 2 minutes to go in the game 28-21. They got the ball back and scored a touchdown, 28-27. There was about 1 minute left in the game and they decided to go for 2. They ran it right up the gut and were stuffed at the goal line and we won the game 28-27. Best revenge ever. |

After failing miserably at RB, the day coach tried me at FS was like finding the perfect Playboy model to pound. I went from suck to **** shit up in one play.
Awesome.

My actual REAL best sports moment was when I was a Freshman in HS.
I made the Varsity Golf team, (I was the only frshman to ever do so up to that point). We were in the last tourney of the year and we were playing a course that I knew like the back of my hand. It's the 5th hardest course in the state right now but back then it was #1. I must have played this thing 500 times. Anyway... I teed off #1 and instantly knew I was going to kick ass... I birdied the 1st 3 holes, then bogeyed a par 3, finished the front 9 at -1. At the turn my coach told me that I would have to finish under par, (which I had never done) if we were to have a chance to win. The next 5 holes I went even par, then on a par 5 I got greedy and went for the green in 2. SPLASH... Double Bogey. So now I'm sitting at +1 with 3 to go. A par 3, a par 4 then a 5... I hit a shot on this 175 yard par three that damn near holed. Tap-in birdie.. Even par. The par 4 was a wicked dog-leg left and I have a natural fade so I knew to play for par. I got the 4 then on to the 550 yard par 5... My driver, a top flight 100 compression and a tail wind gave me a 300 yard drive, (keep in mind I'm a chubby 14 year old). I had 250 to the green and you don't want to hit it over the green, (OB). The longest I ever hit a 3 iron in my life was 210. I took that bitch out and swung as hard as I could. Got a great spin, on the green in 2. 10 foot putt for Eagle. Deep breath. Breaks hard left. Sunk it. My very 1st eagle. I pissed myself. We still lost the tourney but I was the man and got a medal for best round at -2. |
