Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

played a few rounds on the B2K pack.
I can't recall which ones were which, but there were really fun.
Sucked learning new maps again though.

whatever map that's shaped like a big "U" on the B2K gave me fits for whatever reason.
To me, it seems paramount for a squad to take an objective, then defend it. Otherwise, everyone is so far away from their objective, that should the enemy capture it, it takes way too long to get back.

I know that's basicallh the strategy on all of them, but you can get away with leaving an objective on other maps, and coming back to it etc.

I would still like to find some people who play PC to get on a team with. Could the OP maybe do a list with names of who is PC and who is XBox?

That's Wake Island. Its only really in there cause its an old map from like the original BF.

It kinda sucks to play on I agree

I play on PC and I go by erclsr. I don't play a lot. However I do miss having a squad and doing team based objectives and using voice comm. What's your name? I'll add you to my friend list thingy.

I've got a couple of buds that bought the game, but they said they don't like to play on MP for fear of getting slaughtered etc. I tried to reassure them that it's fun as heck, and everyone gets slaughtered at some point/now and again etc.

But, they've had it for a while now, and have still yet to hop on any of my MP invites.

Dude...that's what the game is MADE for. The single player is nothing....

yep. I can see where they're coming from; I used to only play campaigns etc and avoid MP because I thought I wouldn't be good enough etc. This is pretty much the first MP I've played, and it's fun as all get out. Heck, I haven't even finished the campgain in the game.

I also don't think they understand the concept behind BF compared to MW. They don't realize you can die quite a bit, but still help out your team tremendously/win the matches etc. I think their hang up is the k/d ratio they've heard so much about.
