KSU vs Alabama for Natl Champion - Who wins?

After watching KSU last night and granted it was against an overrated sports media hyped WVU team that has a Def ranked 115, however Geno is not overrated, he just can't do it all. KSU's game all around was just phenomenal and especially their D that I believe is just as good as Alabama.

Who wins this potential Natl Championship game?

Honestly, you can nitpick every team's schedule this season. However, it's pretty easy to knock Bama's schedule, regardless what the computers say. Three of the amazing SEC teams Bama has beaten are either getting rid of their coach or want to (Mizzou). Another is Ole Miss (5-5) and lost at home 66-31 to Texas. Miss. St. played nobody until the last three games, of which they've been blown out in all three. LSU was a really good win. Michigan, solid win. Bama is obviously a good team, but the "gauntlet" you'd like to argue Bama has run through hasn't really been particularly difficult.

I grant that it's not been as tough as usual for Alabama. But even without facing a few of the top teams in the SEC this year, it's still been significantly more difficult than anything the other three teams have had to play so far. That's just how strong the conference is on the whole.

Was he referring to KSU with that butthurt comment? Didn't get that one.

For the record, I do think KSU is better than Oregon and Notre Dame and would kind of like to see Snyder's team beat one of them in a NC game. I just think Alabama is better than all of them and should be in that game if they win the SEC.

Oregon would destroy Alabama. Before Saturday I thought a Bama vs Oregon game would be close. Now I think Oregon would demolish the Tide. Saban was completely unprepared for Kevin Sumlin's offense. Embarrassingly so. And the offensive gameplan took Bama right out of the game. Oregon has a better defense than A&M does, too, so just fixing the offensive gameplay wouldn't mean that Bama and Oregon would be a shootout.

Saban's defense relies too much on personnel packages. Against TAMU, Alabama had defensive players scrambling on and off the field and it looked crazy. No one was ready at the snap. No one could handle the tempo. Alabama was woefully unprepared.

Would Saban have his team prepared with one month's worth of practice? He very well could. But I wouldn't personally bet on it after the shitshow I witnessed against TAMU.

There are, and have been no SEC fans sticking up for their conference since Alabama lost.

You, KU fan, is making a big deal out of schedules.

I'm actually not sure, but I'm sure he'll be around here soon to clear up the conclusion.

Edit: Looks like he already did.

If there are two or more undefeated teams and Bama gets in with a loss at home to slightly better than average team, the country will burn.

Oregon isn't destroying anybody with a defense as poor as theirs, especially not a team as good as Alabama, no matter what their offense does. They were playing a competitive game with California of all programs last night until they broke out in the 2nd half and Cal lost its will to play defense. I'll get impressed with them when they actually beat somebody worth nothing instead of the patsies they've played all season. It looks like it may take until the NC game for them to get that opportunity, though.

But with Bama's schedule, we're not talking about the conference as a whole. They haven't played Florida, they haven't played Georgia (yet) and they haven't played South Carolina. They've only played two above average teams in the SEC and lost to one of them at home. The SEC is definitely strong at the top, but the middle to lower levels of the conference are worse that usual and certainly no better than other big conferences.

Oregon defense has given up a respectable amount of points in all games but two. I don't think they're nearly as bad as you're portraying them. Sure, they gave up tons to the Trojans, but that USC team is Oregon's matchup nightmare.

It didn't burn when it happened to Boise State or TCU. I'm sure the country will learn to get over it if it means the best team from the best conference gets in.
