I agree that the lack of deeper throws is going to start hurting as the season shapes up, but right now we're winning and that's pretty ****ing cool all by itself.

It hasn't been pretty but I didn't expect it to be this early, and with Axl it may never be pretty... but as long as he wins, i'm terribly forgiving.

I hate to be the guy to make a serious post in a troll thread, but this one seems to have less 49er AIDS, so I'll make it here:

Most of the Alex Smith critics don't disagree that he can help KC win regular season games. He can.

A good game manager paired with a good defense and running game can win a lot of regular season games. I don't think anyone knows that better than KC fans.

It's the end-of-regular-season expiration date we've seen on that formula that has many of skeptical (We are Charlie Brown, finally telling Lucy to piss off with that football/retread QB).

That's why I'm skeptical. That's why I'm reserving judgment. That's why I will have to see Alex Smith elevate his play before I will believe THIS time is different. I don't think that's an unfair place to come from.

Did any of you hear what one of the announcers said last night, it was something about Reid telling Alex to go out there and do what you and be yourself. Also heard them say he didn't have that freedom in SF. Maybe he'll start playing like his Utah days, he's sure off to good start. He's undefeated just like he was in college his last year there.
