Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

Yes they need to nerf this new "frag shotgun" thing that is going on.

So annoying and not realistic at all.

It's like firing a tank round over and over again from a freaking shotgun.

Dude I know right. Got one shotted with a shotgun from about 80 feet. So pissed.

cool. maybe some of the morons while flock to those maps for a while.

anyone else get a survey from Dice/EA in their email? I got one, asking for detailed suggestions. a few of mine, in a nutshell

-Unranked Servers
- Having an Air Support class on the maps that have aircraft/something similiar; so 3/4 of your team isn't waiting in the same spot for a/c to spawn while the other 3 guys try to win the match on the ground. Or limiting the number of times you can get into an aircraft. Or, you have to be killed X times before you can get into an a/c again. ...something/anything!
-Ejecting from aircraft only after you have 50% or less damage. (eliminating getting a a/c simply to intentionally ditch it to land on a structure not accessible from the ground)
-removing K/D stats. Still Keeping the score for kills etc, and removing tickets for deaths etc; in hopes of people playing the game mode instead of concentrating on the almighty k/d stat at the end of the round.
-increasing points for playing the classes; possibly encouraging more team play.If get killed/on my last stand sort of thing, behind cover, and one more support class guy runs by me I'm going to go insane.
-matches withing a certain range of ranks from a matchmaking standpoint; so you don't have one team with 8 Level 45s' against your team of 8 level 3's. still allow private matches though, or ability to join server that doesn't have any such restriction.
-guilley suit for snipers
- remove the ability to kill people with the UAV. that's reeruned.

those are the ones I remember. some are probably unrealistic, but are things that irritate me.
