Browns Trade Trent Richardson to Colts

Per Adam Schefter, Browns receive Colts' 1st round pick. WOW.

I think the Colt's are the team acting out of desperation to get Andrew Luck some help and the Browns are mailing it in for the season.

I think Richardson will be pretty good. He's a good mix of speed and toughness. Not elite on either, but very good on both dimensions. When I watch him play, he dances a lot behind the line. His blocking hasn't been very good at all. I don't think you need elite blocking for him. I think you need at least adequate blocking and he'll be fine. With Luck calling the shots, that's going to open up a lot more running lanes than he's used to in the NFL.

I think it's good for the browns. I'm not nor was I ever really sold on Richardson. Yes, he's a physical specimen, but he gets hurt a lot and isn't really a game breaking rb IMO.

Plus he was behind a great ol in college

Cleveland is not mailing it in 2 games into the damn season! lol! Obviously TR didn't fit into their plans and the Colts needed a RB.

It's a great move for the browns IMO. They will compete for the first pick in the draft likely even with Richardson. He's a guy they didn't like, so they got a first round pick for a guy who they don't want.

Now they could have the top pick for their qb, another first for a playmaker, and iirc, they loaded up on picks last year.

This on the same day the Browns announce Hoyer as the starting QB instead of Jason Campbell. This is your classic play deady for Teddy move. Stockpile picks, hit the shitter, and build your roster.

At least we've got another guaranteed win on our schedule now.

I know but think it's funny. I don't think they are sold on Weeden for obvious reasons but getting that first round pick sure looks like they are selling out this season and ready to move on.

In all honesty who knows what the Browns are thinking?

Anyone remember that clip of the Browns fan going off in front of their stadium? Funny shit.

Great move by the Browns. First round picks are more valuable than most RB's in the league and Richardson has not been that impressive. Alabama RB's I think are just generally overrated.

The knew regime didn't draft Weeden. They clearly know he isn't the future and want to stock up on draft picks to make sure they get their real QBotF next year.

This is great for the Colts, not the Browns.

Richardson has all the makings to be a productive RB in the NFL. Now he can go to a team where he just has to be a good RB instead of being the savior for the franchise. I don't buy the whole "not a good fit for our system" bullshit.

What's your system? Not having young playmakers? That's a good system.

Browns are tanking the season early.
