My feeling is that Shaun Cody is going to be a helluva DE in the NFL.
He's being projected by some as a DE in a 3-4, but I think he plays DE even in a 4-3.

Well, for me - in that list - there's 3 distinct groups.

If they draft Erasmus James, Marcus Spears, or Mike Williams, I'll be pissed. Those are 3 guys I feel got by on physical talent in college and don't have the drive/fundamentals/technique to make it in the pros.

If they draft Merriman or Ware, I'll be pissed because we don't need 3-4 OLB rush specialists.

If they draft Dan Cody, Daryl Blackstock, Matt Roth, Fabian Washington, or Travis Johnson at #15, I'll be pissed because those are all guys that could be had by trading down into the mid-20's or even later.

Pretty much the same list for me. I definitley don't want Mike Williams. Ware seems to be a chart climber based on workouts and "potential." Merriman may be a stud, but he's not a great fit for our system.

How many of these top guys face top wideouts?
Marlin Jackson played against, and shut down, former first round draft picks like Roy Williams and Reggie Williams. This year Jackson held the Big 10's career leading receiver Stubblefield to one reception for 10 yards. Lining up every day in practice the last few years against Braylon Edwards can't hurt either.

Corners in strong conferences like the SEC get tested much more often than someone like Jones.

EDWARDS: No, I have not.”

I think the biggest thing that would set me off would be either Williams or drafting another farging defensive tackle.
