Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Thanks for the feedback LiveSteam. Still not sure if I'm gonna drop the ball on it but damn that was a nice rifle to shoot and hearing your input about it's longevity makes it even more tempting. Just an awesome gun to have strapped on your back when your in the woods for defense, not legal for hunting in my neck of the woods.

It's a 197 series Ranch with a Accu strut mounted to the barrel, I put 1911 buffers on both side of the operating rod before I added the scope, re-torqued the gas block down to an even 18 foot pounds.
I could never use a scope for shit when hunting. If I could lay the rifle on a bench, line everything up, get comfy and squeez it works but when there's a moving target and I need to act from training I shit the bed every time. My old man and brother could hit a deer in stride (with a little luck of course) at 100+ yards with a scope. I can never even find them in point of view and I've pretty much given up trying.

Pisses me off!

I could also ht stuff with iron sights at long distance that those two can't for shit but still, it would be nice to be at least a little competent with a scope.

Nice looking rifle BTW Fraz, let us know how that baby runs.
We had Mini-14's banging around in all the ranch trucks for coyotes, badgers, etc... They were beat to shit, scratched, muddy, full of dog hair and always fired.

here's a question for you guys..
What do people do if they want to set up and shoot target/course on a small scale?

Since I don't own land, or know anyone that does, I think my only option is to shoot locally/IDPA.....just curious if anyone else has this problem.

The range is getting a little boring lately; would like to shoot steel for that instant gratification

I couldn't believe it. 1600.00 gun for 950. I think a shoot better with it and the recoil seems less than my .40

I don't think I mentioned the kickass Voodoo Tactical rifle case I picked up (obviously needed something that will hold two rifles). This thing easily fits both rifles, has slots for six rifle mags, and also pockets that will hold pistols and pistol mags. ****er weighs a ton loaded out, but that's okay. $95 on Amazon.

Maybe I'm used to it, but I never thought 1911's with 5" barrels recoiled much to begin with. Maybe it's because the frames fit my hands perfect.

However, the 3" barrels, they had a bigger bark to them.
