Yeah, my strategy is to always keep the biggest one in the corner and build toward it. But as soon as you are forced to move it out of the corner for one move, you run the risk of it throwing a damn 2 in there. Once that happens, it's REALLY hard to get back out of it.

Yep. It's just a matter of time, too. I always try to keep one step ahead but something always happens where I have to move down and sure enough, 2 in the corner. Obviously that was my downfall in my highscore game.

Some people are actually doing it with a computer program to PLAY the game. That makes it much more difficult to really figure out what a reasonable high score might be.

I don't personally know anyone who has ever gotten to 8192, but I've been close enough to think I could get there at some point. No way in hell could I ever get to 16384, though. That's just insanity.

I've played a game like that and i've gotten up to 6042(i think, 6k+ anyway)

You take a chance and try to shift sides and it throws a 2 or 4 in there, you're screwed. lol

Hypothesis demonstrated. The sad thing is that I gave up 4096 + 2048 in the corner through an unforced error.

Just for fun I wrote a script to literally do nothing but LEFT-UP-RIGHT-UP (REPEAT). I got bored after about 10 minutes.
