Southern California to see Chargers-Chiefs game, courtesy of corporate partners

Quote:
USAA, Panera Bread, Ashford University, KFMB-TV CBS 8, Donovan’s Steak & Chop House and Donovan’s Prime Seafood have signed on as supporters of Thursday night’s Salute to Service game between the Chargers and the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs, guaranteeing the purchase of enough tickets to lift the local television blackout. USAA is the official game sponsor and the official military appreciation partner of the Chargers and the NFL.

The game will be aired in San Diego on KFMB-TV and the NFL Network. It also will be seen nationally on the NFL Network. Brad Nessler and Mike Mayock will call the game from the booth, while Alex Flanagan reports from the sidelines.

Tickets remain on sale through the game for fans interested in attending. There is still a wide variety of seat locations available, including Club seats, which are some of the best seats in the stadium. Fans can purchase tickets online atwww.chargers.com, or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.

Despicable... of COURSE Spanos called up some crony buddies to get the blackout lifted. I guess I should prepare for another year of AJ and Norb. All that corporate money will be a waste when Spanos gets his way and moves to Los Angeles.

I remember in October 1988 when the Chiefs played the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead and Price Chopper bought 25,000 seats so the Chiefs game could be televised locally

The Chiefs responded by losing 7-6 to about 40,000 actual fans in attendance.

I took the loss that day pretty hard. My dad apologized to me for the Chiefs ruining my day. I told him it wasn't his fault, but I thanked him for being there.
