You made it sound as if Ellis isn't a top recruit. He IS. The Morii and TRob didn't look awesome their first years, either.

No he wont be....he was a big fish in a small pond.

I've never seen a MCDAA suck so ****ing bad as him. He has no post move, he's strictly a back to the basket player, and a VERY weak one at that. He can't rebound. He has somewhat of a soft touch shot but his confidence is so ****ing shot he won't attempt a jumper.

You should probably read the game thread. I actually defended Ellis when somebody (probably Wickedson, I can't quite recall) said that he was terrible and shouldn't be at Kansas. That was going too far (well not the terrible part...because he is quite terrible right now).

It should be stated, though, that top recruits don't always pan out. KU has been fortunate with their bigs over the last little while becoming very effective players, but that isn't always the way it is.

Ellis will be a lot better than some think right now. As mentioned T-Rob and the Morris twins in many ways looked worse than Ellis right now when they were freshman.

People complain about Ellis being soft, but at the same time if you looked up in the dictionary what a soft freshman looked like... you would have found the Morris twins pics in it.

The Morrises were out of control but at least tried hard and played with intensity in 2009. They also rebounded the basketball much better than Ellis. Of course, Self had to use them a lot more so that gave them some room over the season to grow that Ellis doesn't have.

I remember watching the Morris twins their freshmen year and wondering if either could actually dunk.

The improvement they made in their time at KU was drastic.

This pretty much gift wraps a solid career for Ellis. Como is about as accurate as the heavens gate cult inthe 90's.

Ellis, and traylor for that matter, are going to be just fine.

Matter of fact, I see Traylor being a darnell jackson type. And Ellis has a pretty high ceiling IMHO.
