I'm going to be an attention whore on this. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a morbidly obese individual. I grew up overweight. Like, as long as I can remember. In the beginning of 2008 a weight loss thread started. I decided for the first time in my life I was going to go see a doctor and try and take off some weight. I was 450lbs.

I learned how incredibly ignorant I was to health, fitness, and food. Over the course of a year and a half or so, I lost 185lbs. I went from someone who had never been able to run a mile in his life, to someone who ran 30-40 miles a week. I have a framed picture of myself completing my first 5k, and it was one of the proudest moments in my life.

In August of 2010 my wife and I decided to move to Branson, MO from Seattle, WA. I've lived here before, and wanted to come back. I've never really drank in my life because I come from a long line of alcoholics. I chose a different poison, and always smoked pot. (Yeah, lost 185lbs with the ****ing munchies every day. Go me!)

Needless to say, I started drinking when I got down here because the pot was horrible, and eventually stopped running. When I stopped running, I started gaining weight. Today, 2 years later, I weigh approximately 380lbs. I say approximately because frankly, I would have to find a freight scale to weigh myself.

Today is the day it all begins again. I thought long and hard about putting myself out there on this board, because it has changed so much since I did this the first time. But it was such a great release for me, and an insane source of positive encouragement, and valuable information that I decided to do it.

I also know that all that weight I lost inspired a few others on this board to do it as well. My understanding is that they have all kept that weight off. I'm hoping to replicate those achievements with some current fatties out there. Let's band together! Let's learn, and fight, and be who we want to be, rather than who we are right now.

I'm going to post before and after pictures in the next post. My before and after is a little different though. I'm going to post pictures of me at 265, and one of me today. I look forward to posting my after-after picture at the end of the year. I am going to lose 100lbs+ before this year is over. My goal, is to weigh 250lbs by January 1st. That would be the same weight I was at in the 8th grade. Public accountability is a big part of why I was so successful before I think. The idea of putting this up and being the same or worse by year's end is disgusting. I believe it will help me. I will be bumping this thread perhaps on a daily basis. It worked the last time.

Who's with me? Who is ready to put in the blood, sweat, and tears necessary to change your life forever? If I'm alone, I'm alone. But I hope some of you will join me in the battle of the bulge. We'll call it "Custard's last stand"! And to anyone who wants to talk shit to me, about me, or whatever, bring it on. It fuels me.

I have a real hard time coordinating what and when I want to eat with the family dinner. My wife gets frustrated trying to plan meals and I usually just cave and eat what they eat. I also like to eat only when physically hungry and that doesn't always line up with when dinner is ready.

It will be a lot easier when the boys are out of the house. My wife doesn't mind simple dinners whenever but it's harder to do with two voracious teen boys in the house.

Yep, this is how we roll. She doesn't ask me to go to places that only serve food that is terrible for me either.

Fine maybe once a week. There's no way I'd eat that sh1t every day. I don't have a problem with the fat or protein content.. its the damn nitrates/nitrites they use a preservatives.

You should look into the fancy stuff at an organic grocery store. Uncured and no nitrates.

It's tasty but like you it's not the kind of thing I'm going to eat everyday.

I guess my issue is that I do all the cooking at my house. If I'm cooking it, I'm going to eat it.

The good part of that is, I do all the cooking. So we eat healthy (my wife is a health nut as well). The bad part is that if I were bringing home a sandwich to eat for supper, I'd be like, "**** it, you all cook your own food. I've got mine."

Six months ago I was a 224lb beer belly with legs. I began to wonder how come I was fat.... could it be lack of exercise, or maybe eating too much? Then I computed the calories that I was taking in. I like beer & the Lagunitas Brewing Co. (IPA) is just down the street from me. I live in wine country. Folks here drink wine like the folks in Seattle drink coffee. But I like beer. So I sucked down both the wine and the beer.... about 1,000 calories a day. I quit both.

But I need some kinda drug so I started drinking sugar-free energy drinks instead & now I get all nervous & stuff & have trouble sleeping but at least it doesn't make me fat so I just keep doing it but now I'm no fun at parties cuz I tend to talk too much & miss the cues when its time to go home & stuff like that. Went down to 190.

Meanwhile, I still have too much flab. Just cutting out alcohol and becoming a speed freak isn't enough. I will actually have to learn about nutrition & exercise if I am to have a healthy weight loss. Maybe this is a good place to start....

I felt like my face was getting skinnier than my body, and now my body is catching up and I feel like I have a fat face again.

Lunch-left over chipolte chicken lettuce wraps with avacado. Plus a kiwi.

Dinner-heritage pork sage sausage with 3 scrambled eggs and 4 pumpkin pancakes (canned pumpkin, eggs, cinnamon, splash of real maple syrup, and vanilla).

And I swam a half mile after work at a leisurely pace.

I'm less likely to want to snack after an easy workout. The high intensity days seem to lead to more evening trips to the pantry.

After my workouts all I can do is lay on the couch and whine like a little bitch, lol. I end up less hungry because I need so much liquid. Which I guess just shows how everyone is just a bit different.
