Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

You can't. He can't. He hans't TAKEN OVER this team.
He's running it like he's only here for the weekend and the regular manager will be back after his vacation...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I want to believe he's that owner. I'm waiting. And we'll see.

No he doesn't.

He goes through his progressions as well as any QB on this level.

In fact, his ability to look off the safety is superb and has been mentioned by a number of scouting reports and if you watch a whole WVU game, you start to notice the little stuff like this that is in his game. One more reason why I think he'll be a terrific pro. He does the little things that really contribute to the potential for success at the next level already. Some guys have the physical tools, but need additional coaching to get them to be able to play at an NFL level. Geno has these traits already, or at least a lot of them.

As well, he played in an NFL pro style set his sophomore year and was very successful in it. In addition, while the Air Raid is primarily a spread system, most of their receiver routes are pro style routes with multiple live options on the receiving routes.

And the one real benefit that he's receiving from the Air Raid system is that he's throwing the ball a ton. Steve Young commented about the difference between him and Michael Vick, stating that it was the thousands of repetitions in the passing game at BYU that prepared his arm and thought process for the next level.

Geno is as NFL ready as you could hope for from a QB at this level. In addition, he's got the physical tools you want from a high level NFL QB.

I've said it before, but, IMO, he's as good an NFL prospect at the QB position as anyone whose come out the past two decades.

This month is going to tell an awful lot about all these guys starting today.

I honestly think that if Tyler Wilson gets to 30 TD's this year he's the unanimous 1st pick.
The guy is a gunslinger and I think if he continues to perform well in that shit hole in Arkansas the rest of the season, Barkley and Geno won't hold a candle to him.
Last year will he looked better than every QB in this class against the best competition. This year if he's on pace with these guys on a far shittier team, he gets my vote.

Tyler Wilson does everything pretty good. He also has it all. But Geno Smith just does it better.

Tyler Wilson has Geno Smith beat in one category and one category only-- armstrength. And Geno is no slouch there at all. Wilson has him beat only slightly.

IMO. I think that what is going on is that the bar has been raised by Andrew Luck & RGIII. Tannehill can probly be included now and other rookie QBs or young QBs that are making waves in the NFL. The guys that are comming out are being scruitinized for every little detale of their game. It seems like they have to play flawless football to get the accolades & deamed the next great QB for the draft. They are still making tremendous plays for their teams but loseing or getting blown out by K state doesn't help Geno Smith any. He still showed what he is capable with the ball. I think the scruitiny is there for the expectations that have been placed at a higher level than in years past. Andrew Luck & RGIII set the bar for the new genaration of QBs.

I think Wilson is tougher than Geno. Wilson has been hit right in the chest all year.

Hell just 5 minutes ago he just got a first down on a perfect throw as he took a burtal hit right in the numbers.

Tyler Wilson is one tough SOB. Like Ben Roethlisberger tough.

You absolutely have to compare the offenses they run...

Guys stock is going fall and rise again. It happens to all of them going into the draft. There are so manny variables that go into play. What teams are looking for what has a big part in it too.

Agreed. Geno has a tougher time because his coach runs a scheme that's been cracked and solved by two Big XII defenses now.

Big 12 QB's have a huge hill to climb in the NFL.

They don't tend to do well...
